As per Ugri's suggestion, we're going to split this up into multiple parts, to make things interesting, and calculate everything by hand.Players have full control over the map pool this season! Reply with your picks for each category...

Roundabout--This map is sick, but it needs toned-down creeps so that you can actually claim your natural expo with a small tier 1 army

Swamp of Sorrows--I have always been a fan of this map

I think that it would be a good idea to update some of these maps.  I really like Swamp of Sorrows, but the merc camps are fucking useless and it needs Tavern(s); probably should have just more shops or labs or something.

I feel the same way about Lost Temple...it just needs a Tavern.  You could probably just take the fountain out of LT, remove the creeps from that spot, and just put a Tavern right there.

I'm not a fan of islands because the game was not designed to handle an island with a shitload of towers on it.  Then again, if the island is within reach of siege units, that problem isn't such a big deal.  I don't know...I personally like semi-islands which are blocked in by trees (later becoming part of the mainland) or can be accessed by waygates; it gives you the compromise that you have a secluded base, but that it can be accessed if you need to or you really want to.  I really liked MysticIsles because it had this kind of balance for its islands; maybe there's a way to make a bigger version of that map so that it has a bit more versatility and you can actually fit on the pathways in the middle of the map.

I think that most maps on the list are fine, so long as they have some tune-ups.

EDIT: Oh, I remember another small map that had ample gold mines, but induced a lot of fighting and positional wars: Scorched Basin.  It would need a Tavern in the middle and maybe a bit of fine-tuning, but I remember really enjoying it as all races on the ladder pool, years ago.

I wouldn't mind making some minor adjustments to old maps, if thats what people would like. Granted, I wouldn't do anything huge like changing terrain, but adding in a Tavern or adjusting creeps in one or two spots is no big deal.

Also, feel free to edit your posts with changes. We wont calculate anything until a day or two before applications end (we'll be sure to make a post in here on an exact date).

Sometime later today, I'll take a look at the maps on the list (alongside a couple of other pre-existing maps) and make some detailed notes for potential adjustments.  I think a couple of them are just a lost cause (fuck you, emerald) but a lot of them could honestly be better if we just altered them a bit.

I would do this right now, but I'm about to crash.
