Well one of the big ones is student debt forgiveness. To which I say fuck you because I paid for everything myself by working my ass off.

It's very easy to ask for an extension on paying your debt at a later date, I've never once been denied on it, and had to do it twice for a few different student loan sites until I secured my job.

Anyways I think this topic is now spiraling out of control (or will very much soon) and I only contributed to it... hm

ebo thank you, you just showed a disgustingly weak understanding of another topic. my cousin is one of occupy's lawyers so yeah i was there, no i dont ask for student debt forgiveness although my debt is considerable

the real purpose behind occupy is not to stop wallstreeters from getting to work, or to achieve any actual corporate change, or to receive these small victories like student debt forgiveness.

It is to raise awareness, both socially and politically, of the gross and egregious mismanagement of most top investment banking firms, as well as some corporations. CEO pay has multiplied by 10 over the past 40 years, while average worker hourly pay has stayed almost exactly the same. While 1% of the US controls almost half the wealth, and management receieve outrageous bonuses for working in an industry (market capitalization) that produces almost nothing, the rest of us get screwed when their risky and greedy endeavors don't pay off (housing market overspeculation, credit market swaps, derivatives bundling) and then we the taxpayers have to bail them out, losing our jobs, etc, while the top 1% actually GAIN wealth.

So yeah, we want better corporate monitoring, better corporate management, lower pay for top level executives, and the political awareness to stop the myriad injustices that are taking place beneath our noses by the smartest and wealthiest in America.

Eshan, I fully agree with the idea behind OWS. I don't agree with bandwagoner losers jumping on it when under better circumstances they would actually oppose it. In particular, I don't trust students who want debt forgiven. This to me screams greed/hypocrisy. Maybe they shouldn't have gone to a fucking 10k per term college for a degree they maybe should have done some fucking research on first. I went to a decent university, got a decent degree and now have a decent job. I paid for everything by myself.

Like with everything, 80% of OWS supporters are crap. I'd say about 95% of college crowd in the US are crap. Fuck em. This country needs plenty bartenders.

That said, I was just trolling. I have no idea re: your personal position/how you are IRL (though I have the most likely idea). I don't know if you are with the crap 80% or with the competent 20%.

Oh, and let me tell you something about revolutions, in layman's terms.

They are thought up by the intelligent.
They are supported by the stupid.
They are taken advantage of by the greedy.

I want change too. I know the world is fucked up. But it's going to be fucked up no matter what, as history shows. Human beings have a way of auto-separating into 1% smart+greedy 19% smart+kind and 80% stupid+greedy. No amount of protests is going to change that fundamental idea. The only revolution i'd support is for the 19% of the smart+kind to go live in their own fucking country and leave the other 81% to troll their youtubes.
