With the regular season wrapped up for Season 15, it is as always, time to begin thinking about our next season. While many of you may think that we’re talking about Season 16 way too early, after all we haven’t even completed our current season, the FML admins have actually been thinking about this from before the start of Season 15. You see this season we have a special treat that we’ve seen finally come to fruition. It’s an idea that we’ve been trying to accomplish for a while now...

Season 16 will have one match every round, as well as our semi-finals and finals, broadcast on Ongamenet! For those who aren’t aware of what Ongamenet is, it’s a Korean TV network that broadcasts video games. They’re best known for Starcraft, Starcraft 2 and League of Legends. However, I’ve recently been in contact with one of the companies producers (who actually spoke amazingly clear English!) and we’ve worked out a 1 Season contract. The primary reason I think they agreed was because of their old roots with Warcraft III, and possibly a little nostalgia from those in charge. In addition it won’t take up much of their time.

While FML will not be receiving any monetary gains from this deal, we hope that if all goes well the amount of attention it will bring will drastically increase our name recognition. For those that do not actually live in Korea you will be able to view our broadcast games on their Twitch TV Channel for a small fee. Considering they have over 10 million views though I think that odds are you’ll want to pay for it !

To ensure that this season is truly something special, we will be bring out an entirely new format. For the next week we’ll be rolling out a new aspect of the season, but for now I’ll give a sneak preview of what to expect.

Season 16 Format

-5 Rounds
-5 Custom Created Maps
-Each of the first 4 rounds will have a map designed to enhance a certain race. This will allow for players to create new strategies, and will test how well players are able to adapt and plan. In addition it will create a new element. Do you want to play the race the map will favor and risk getting teamed for it, or play the safer root but possibly miss out on becoming the juggernaut player>
-Special final round map created by our very own Worpex. The creator of Harvest of Sorrow has returned with a vengeance and created a masterpiece that tops even his last map.
