Round 1: *Ding Ding* Fight!

Well, the wait is finally over. It took the largest qualifiers in recent memory, but we finally have our group for Season 15! Before we go any farther let’s give a big round of e-plause to our Season 15 participants!
Dkh.Rain - Season 14 Champion
Magadansky
Seksi
DarkFlameMaster
/
Lightweight!
Persuade
Nline
Humans7ar
Dkh.Starshaped
Slythe
Mog[Skynet]
J33.
Brainman
Audigy
:cvech:
Cechi
Gahh
The qualifiers were brutal, and many a good player didn’t make it. But, we have no time to mourn those that didn’t make. Things are going to be moving quickly, the theme of Season 15. We have more solo players than ever before, and we can fully expect this to be a fast paced exciting season to watch. To help aid the effort, we’ve decided to completely revamp the map pool. We feel that the maps selected will help to provide a good balance between allowing massive 100 food fights, and discouraging people sitting in their bases hoarding.
Without further ado, the round one schedule!
M1
Dkh.Rain
:cvech:
Cechi
/
Lightweight!
Seksi
The first match of the new season should get it started with a bang. Almost certainly the most interesting match of the round, it features two of the best solo players vs two of the best microing FFA players. Rain has already proved that he can play a successful game of FFA, managing to win the Season 14 title. Can Cechi convert to FFA as well as Rain has? In Cechi’s first game he played a Rambo style Undead. He was able to quickly take out one player, and was playing 2v1 for much of the game. He was successful at it too, up until he ran out of gold 30 minutes into the game. His second game featured a complete turnabout. He randomed and drew Human. He then proceeded to make more towers than anyone wants to see, and hoard at 50 for much of the game. He was actually outmicroed in Human mirror, but pulled off a relatively easy victory due to his manipulations and smart macro.
Lightweight is a rather infamous name in the FFA community. Known both for his bipolar tendencies, and his incredible skill with Orc and Human, FML is glad to have him back. He’s always been one of the better pure FFA players micro wise, and it will be interesting to see in 100 v 100 fights where he stacks up against solo players. The last player has been one of the most successful players in FML recently. Seksi co-won FML Ladder Season 1, and then followed it up with a trip the the Season 14 finals. While he wasn’t able to pull of the win in that match, he’s certainly showed that he is right on the verge.
M2
Persuade
Brainman
Nline
Gahh
At the top of this match we have Persuade. The master of making the semis and choking. This season he got off to a bit of a different start though and decided to choke in both of his qualifier matches. It’s only through luck that the winner of his second qualifier couldn’t play that he got a third chance and managed to pull of the victory there. An avid random player, we at FML feel that he should stick to Orc and Undead. Hopefully if enough people tell him this he’ll actually pick a race! Brainman is another solid random player, and the other co-winner of FML Ladder Season 1. In recent times he’s been too busy to play FML, but apparently his schedule has cleared up, and we expect FML competition to be all the better for it. An aggressive player, he’s also been known to have issues with Persuade. Will it lead to an early knock out for one of these two players? Only time will tell.
Nline is another player who only recently returned to us. After winning a match in Season 14 as a sub, he was invited into the league as a replacement. Despite only playing 3 of his own matches, he managed to qualify for the semi-finals. Known most for his Blademaster, Tauren Chieftan, Alchemist hero combination, he brings a fresh playstyle to Orc. As the only exclusively Orc player in this season, we’ll see how other players deal with him. Our last player, Gahh, qualified in what could be considered one of the strangest matches ever. He was able to pick up the easy freewin when Elessar did not realize that a 4th player had already been knocked. As such, Gahh was handed an easy win when the other two players decimated each other. Still, we’re excited to have him and look forward to seeing what he can bring to the FFA community.
M3
Mog[Skynet]
Magadansky
Audigy
Humans7ar
M3 features two faces that haven’t been seen in awhile, and two that never seem to go away. Mog[Skynet] struggled to qualify for the past few seasons, but has been continually play the FML Ladder and doing well there. As such we all knew that it would just be a matter of time before he found his way back into FML. It turned out that 15 was his number, and here he is. The only question that remains is will he continue his infamous Tinker play, or convert to a more traditional Night Elf style. Magadansky on the other hand has probably never missed an FML season in his career. In fact, him missing the finals is more of an anomaly than making them. That being said, he’s only got two titles. Maybe he’s really not that good? Be warned Maga, this season we’re on to you and your mediocre play!
Audigy is a player that hasn’t been seen for a while, but is fully expected to bring a lot of new excitement to the league. His necrowagon play has been able to catch everyone offguard so far, and it will be interesting to see how well it works when players are expecting it. The last player, Humanstar, is another familiar face to FML. While he hasn’t won a title yet, he’s come close several times. His unrelenting Human armies tend to overwhelm his opponents. Add in the fact that he’ll hit anyone at any time and it makes him a wildcard.
M4
Dkh.Starshaped
Slythe
DarkFlameMaster
J33.
Speaking of wildcards... well, I think it’s safe to say that StarShaped is
the
definition of wildcard. His play ranging anywhere from hit anything that moves to perfection, it’s extraordinarily hard to gameplan for him. In addition, he’s gotten jealous of his teammate Rain being able to play any race and has started messing around with Night Elf. Will this change his play style? No, nothing he does will surprise anyone. This could prove interesting for Slythe, who hasn’t played FML recently and has probably only played against StarShaped a handful of times. Known for being one of the original Random players, he’s always brought a very methodical gameplan to the table. On a side note, Hipster!Slythe is probably super mad at all the new Random players.
Our last player is one that has only competed in one FML match before. J33 subbed last season, and had a decent showing although nothing great. Since then though he’s been practicing hard on the FML Ladder and doing quite well. It’s safe to say that his qualifying for FML is a good sign for things to come.
*For those that would take this seriously and get all pissy, he didn’t actually request that.
Games will most likely begin on Sunday, and we hope to see you there! As always, visit
FFAMasters.net
for more information, and you can find replays on both WCR and
TFT Replayers

Unfortunately we don't have any control over FFAreps. We're working on contacting the owner through Hydro, but that's obviously a rather convoluted and tedious process. We do load replays on tft.replayers.com as well as our demonreps page.
As for an FML B, there are no plans for this season. Currently I'm not sure we have enough players to run it, however if interest continues to grow the way it has currently then I think it is a possibility in the future. For now, you'll have to make due with FML Ladder, and any other surprises we may come up with.
Cheers!
P.S. If anyone wants to post on WCR as well to generate more interest for the league, here's a link to the
