FML Season 11 Grand Finals!
« on: February 05, 2012, 11:30:10 pm »
:FMLN:

Before I introduce the players, i'd like to thank the players and fans of FML Season 11! It's been a long season filled with lots of drama and excitement. We have a host of exciting changes which we plan to implement for the next season and we encourage each and every one of you to speak out and tell us what you love about this league or what you think needs to be improved upon! Lightweight has kindly started up a thread already for us, so please just add on to it with a comment by clicking: here.

Congratulations to all players who participated in the Play-offs this season and a special congratulatory message to those were able to "overcome the odds" and win with style. :Sweden: DkH.Starshaped and :Canada: Renaud are these two players and they will be joining the two star players during the regular season matches, :USA: L77 and :Russia: y.zenchenko!

Season 11 Grand Final

Map: Gold Rush (Chosen by L77)
:Goldrush2:

:Sweden: :hu: DkH.Starshaped

Season 10 was quite a difficult one for Starshaped. He came into it as a solo player with little knowledge of FFA and ended the season winless and at the bottom of the rankings. Coming into Season 11 however, he took the knowledge he learned from last season and turned it into some serious results. In Round 2 he picked up his very first FML win against the likes of :Bulgaria: Magadansky and :Canada: rygorych, but he didn't stop there. He went on to grab the top score bonus point in Round 4 and then secure the all important win in Round 6 to snag a Semi-Final spot.

Once in the Semi-Finals, Starshaped's true style began to show! His aggressive behavior combined with well timed moments of hording and outstanding game-play mechanics ensured him this spot in the grand final. Many see him as the Darkhorse of this match, making him the player who will likely decide who will inevitably win this grand final!

:Canada:  :ne: Renaud

Known as the "King of FFA", Renaud earned this title by winning a tournament which demanded knowledge of all aspects of FFA including 4 player, 6 player and even 12. Even outside of this tournament however, it is clear that Renaud knows more about this game then anyone can even fathom. He started his FFA career as a successful Undead player before switching to Human when he won the previously mentioned tournament. Now? He's playing Night Elf. Why? Because we don't have enough of them in FML. Not because its his best race. He already knows hes the king!

While no stranger to FML, Renaud has never been in an official FML Season's grand final before. He wants to win a real season, not just for himself, but to put the Night Elf race into the Hall of Fame!

:Russia: :orc: y.zenchenko

y.z. is well known for playing Orc correctly. He's an old school player and he rarely makes glaring mistakes. On the flip side, he also rarely makes any bold moves and tends to stick to what he knows works instead of taking risks. Still, you can't argue with his results this season. Placing in second place with 4 wins out of 6 games is no easy task to say the least! Those two games he lost this season were to his arch enemy... fellow Finalist, :USA: L77. Don't expect y.z to make the same mistakes again!

As with Renaud, this is also y.z's first appearance in an FML Grand Final despite being a regular here. This is simply a testament to practice certainly paying off! No Orc player has ever won an FML Season Final as most of the previous champions have been of the human variety. He has two of these dangerous enemies to defeat in this match and I'm confident that he knows just how hes going to do it! y.z doesn't back down to a challenge, and this season may very well be the first for the orcs to finally gain a crown!

:USA: :hu: L77

L77 does not get nearly enough credit despite his ridiculous accomplishments this season. A rookie to FML, the rising human star easily won his first Qualifier match and then went on to win 4 games during the regular season plus a bonus point for having the highest score in his Round 4 game. Don't forget that he has also never finished in last place. While by name he is considered a new player to the FFA Masters, he has clearly shown that he deserves to be here. This player would hands down win a "Rookie of the Season" award if we still gave them out.

In this match, L77 plans to pick a map which will give him the advantage over his orc opponent and land him the upper-hand in this match! He plans to close this incredible season with a huge win and achieve a well earned spot in the FML Hall of Fame!

Good luck to all players and have fun!

OBJECTION!

Season 4 was won by an orc! (But fly isn't an orc player, so I guess it doesn't really count)
