ROUND 2
Map:
Deadline: June 23th
F5
j33.
Magadansky
Gears-
Fail.Life
The European dream team is getting together to play this match. Never before have we had such a diverse group in a match, nor a group that fared so poorly in WWII. J33, our token elf who can produce more gold than anyone since Nooblex should be able to play out his strategy of sitting, doing nothing, doing some more nothing, and then using his 30k banked gold to eliminate the last player who will be shocked there’s another person in the game. It doesn’t always work, but when it does people forget about the next second. The resident Vampire will try to convince people he’s not trying to suck their blood. They’ll all believe him, and then he’ll suck their blood. It’s been repeated game after game guys, DON’T TRUST MAGA. Even if he does sparkle in the sun.
Our two solo players round out the first match of this round. Gears seems to be a bit of a wild card. Like most solo players he wants to hit any and everything that moves. This leads to some spawn luck based off of who is not next to him. Life however played quite the brilliant game last time. Showing a very impressive ability to hold up to an almost game long 2v1 after rushing out Persuade Life almost squeaked out a win. A few costly errors at the wrong time though led to him showing his hand too early and the loss.

Persuade
DarkFlameMaster
FiRel)rAgOn
Humans7ar
Speaking of World War II...
This pretty much looks like the all star game based off of last seasons results. Our first player, Persuade, was a semifinalist last year. He got off to a rough start this season, gaining only 5 points in his first match. If he hopes to autoqualify for the finals this year, something which he is certainly capable of, then he’ll need to get off to a solid start in this game. Expect him to come out playing aggressive and looking for the win. DFM, a new player and finalist last season, is another player who got off to a bit of a rocky start. He only picked up 5 points in his first match as well. Like Persuade, he has to be thinking about trying to qualify directly for the finals. He’s got the drive, and his elf skills should back him up in this match which is very elf friendly. Perhaps we’ll see an elf ground army pulled out as a surprise?
Firedragon got off to a so so start in the first round. While he’s not nearly in as bad of shape as Persuade and DFM are, I’m sure he’d like to pick up a win here as well. If his bite backs up his bark then he should have a rather aggressive play style. Something that would suit this map well. Our last player is another one of those aggressive types. Humanstar has always had solid results, and he loves to fight. On a map like deadlock, I can only imagine the havoc that split tanks will create. The only thing that will most likely keep him in check is if he close spawns to DFM, and known master of the NE vs HU matchup!

Seksi
Lightweight
Svedirko
Sk2flash
Another powerful matchup, it features 2 well established names and 2 names who are pretty new to the FFA Community. Seksi, our two time FML Ladder winner and 2 time finalist, has been on the hunt. Picking up a relatively easy win in Round 1, he’ll be looking to try and use some experience to outmaneuver the young guns. Lightweight may be able to put a wrinkle in that plan though. Showing a great outing in R1 where he lost by a base kill, he has the FFA experience to know when to team, when not too, and when someone is full of shit. Fresh off of his solid performance in the
FML Showmatch
he’ll be looking to bring home 25 points during this match.
Svedirko, a completely new to the community FFA player showed a good start in R1. He managed to grab a win in an unlikely circumstances that most likely won’t repeat themselves in Round 2. Playing some more and getting a better feel for gold counts and strength will go a long to help him. The last player is probably one of the most promising new players. Flash has come in with his eyes open regarding manip, and seems to be able to adjust properly to it. While some more time certainly won’t hurt him, don’t be too surprised if he flies under the radar and picks up a win here.

Ugrilainen
Whoguess / GM
Mog[Skynet]
WaN
Our last match has probably the most diverse player spread. Ugrilainen, the crafty old player who can pull tricks out of his back pocket whenever the time arises. He’s seen it all and knows how to prepare for it. While he might not be able to compete on the micro level with some of the players, he makes up for it with his wits and never say die attitude. Whoguess is probably the biggest wild card in the match. He’s had some great showings and some poor ones. However if he plays up to his best then a win is well within his reach. It should also be interesting to see what race he picks for Deadlock since that will affect the others. The most likely choice would be Night Elf.
Mog got off to a rough start in Round 1. While he didn’t get last, I’m sure it wasn’t how he wanted to start the round off. Still, he does have 10 points and he’s going into a great Night Elf map. In addition, he has a very nice surrounding cast player wise for his style (minus Wan). Our last player, the aforementioned Wan, is probably the most promising of the new recruits. Coming in with superb micro, he’s been working hard on his FFA sense and macro. He’s taken everyone’s comments to heart and been practicing hard. He wasn’t far off in his first match, and he’s improved since then. Don’t be at all surprised to see Wan pick up this win!
