Post by: Redkeekee on May 08, 2012, 01:20:25 am
I will be organizing a Double-Elimination solo tournament.

Date: June 9th beginning at 0900 EST and it should last a good while into the afternoon.

Map pool

Tournament Rules
-Double Elimination format
-All matches will be best out of 3 except for the Finals which will be best out of 5.

Game-day Procedures

-0915 EST : Bracket will be posted in a new thread, games begin.
-It will be participants responsibility to arrange hosting.
-Map choice will be randomly selected for the first game, loser picks the following maps.
-The WINNER of each match will be responsible for sending Redkeekee a PM on the FML web-site with the results in this format: "Match: Player1 vs Player2, Winner: Player1 (2-0)"
-The WINNER of each match will also be responsible for e-mailing the replays from the match to Redkeekee for the replay pack to be posted afterwards.
-The Bracket thread will be updated as Redkeekee receives results and matches may be played as soon as they are updated.

It will be bo3 to the finals, finals bo5.

I can increase the amount of players if there is an inordinate amount of interest.

I chose 9AM because there are more EU players than there are Pacific players.

I will decide on map pool closer to the date, but it will be from the standard 1v1 map pools.

and if you make it around noon-3pm est on a sat and a sun, that's only 6p-9p for most euros

If each round is a bo3 it will take a lot longer than 3 hours.  Assuming each round is approx 1 hour and that there will be 6 rounds that's a minimum of 6 hours till finals are over.  I'd rather start earlier so the EU people don't have to be on past midnight.

Every date you add doubles the possibility of scheduling conflicts.  I'd rather keep it to a 1 day marathon-type event.

I don't have a problem with starting at 6 AM.  Can't speak for other Cali players, but I personally don't give a shit.

Either you overestimate yourself or you underestimate rain.

It's double elimination so...  Even if your initial bracket pairs you with Rain or some GG player you get to play all the sucky ones.. errm ones that lost in the next round ^_^

sorry just got home, was updating at like a billion oclock last night, added you.

The brackets and first map choices will be determined using a random bracket generator / me flipping a coin.  And no, I shall not rig  :icon_razz:

Either you overestimate yourself or you underestimate rain.

I know how good Rain is, my teams played against DKH twice back in the day.  And yes he would stomp me in my current form.  My comment was making a joke toward Iskes saying I would beat him and be facing Rain from the other side of the bracket :P

Bump!

Two things, first, I can no longer play in it because I'll be on vacation.

Second, all those signed up for the league team should sign up for this.  Results in this will be considered for placement spots/solo ranking on the team.
