The first round of the qualifier is about ready to kick off but first there is some missing information... What is this weeks TB point objective and what is the secret map?? I am here to answer these questions!!
Secret Map: Deadlock
:DL:
Weekly Objective: +1 TB points for each hero at the highest level in the game. (Example: If the highest level a hero reached in the game is 8 and 2 heroes reached that level, 1 point is awarded for each hero.)
---
Also, to re-iterate the purpose of TB points, here it is:
TB points are used for breaking ties in the standings. The player with the highest number of TB points is placed higher than anyone else. It is also used during map voting. If there is a tie in the map voting, the players with the most accumulated TB points that voted on a map will get that map.

Oh gosh, I'm so happy I was outvoted now :)
edit: done editing every scheduling topic, the selected map is now in bold! (if you believe I made a mistake, please reply!)

So if I finish with 9-8-7, and everyone elses heros are 6 or less, I get 1 point (for the level 9) or 3 points (cause all 3 are the highest level heroes?)

Not that it makes much of a difference in the end, but we should really just do tie breakers by score.
-
What do you mean?
(my obvious interpretation is that we look at score to see who is ahead... but in a tie breaker the score is the same, so I must be missing something :P)
-
Score on previous games. Although now that I think about it, that depends almost entirely on how long the game is. Maybe score relative to the other players.
-
The reason we don't do that is because it encourages playing for 2nd, which has been a problem in the past. Choosing a fair and understandable tie-breaker system is something that's been under discussion for a very long time and hasn't been really solved yet.

Score relative to the other player is interesting, and we did use it in the past (and I believe we still use it in case of ties after the TB points)
But some players (those who lost said tie breakers) complained that it was unfair, since they had no control over who they played.
I think last season showed that the TB points are *almost* useless, since players almost always ignore them... but at least now they have some control over it so they can't complain as much :)

Yes. Place 2 - 4 are based on score since forever , plus the TB points help alot to break the ties!
