Welcome all to week IV of "Get to know the community!!"
Last year we discussed what makes a game enjoyable to you, and what a joyous time we had indeed!
This week, we will be embracing our inner Warcraft desires to discuss what race we play primarily, and what ended up being the reason for this decision.
**Please note that the views of Persuade do not represent the views of FML as a whole, if someone is offended by my strange sense of humor please PM me personally and do not hold it against any other admins.

I started with undead in battle.net ,in around 2003, because i thought mass wyrms is unbeatable :D Then after switching to elf, i got humiliated by an orc so i decided to switch to the stinky greenskins.

Understandable, Wyrms were actually pretty imbalanced back in the day. I used to mass them as well when anti magic shield was spell immunity instead of the crap it is now.

Had tryed all other races, until I discovered how power build and tower(S) (RoC time) could help my lack of macro, how mass tp handles my forgetting buying scrolls, how tanks could solve my lack of micro, how invisibility could save my hero. Never changed after that.
and... Mk doing claps gave me funny feelings.

The year was 2003 and it was a hot and muggy summer night. I was walking back from baseball practice when I caught something shimmer around a tree out of the corner of my eye. When I looked over there though there was nothing there.
A few blocks later I heard this massive roar, and caught site of a bear galloping into the woods. This obviously freaked me out quite a bit, but not nearly as much as the massive creature that flew over me chasing a wooden zeppelin. At this point I started sprinting back towards my house, when out of the blue I felt something prick me and I started to feel faint and started running slower with green gas coming off my back.
I looked behind me to find this oddly beautiful creature running me down while trying to kill me and continually throwing spears at me. As I crossed the railroad tracks I found a police station and ran towards it. As I was about to open the door it opened on its own and a sketchy dwarf in a hood aimed a rifle at my head.
"You aren't welcome here boy" he said. Pointing over my shoulder he growled; "those are your people now."
From then on, I was forever one with nature, and my elf brethren.

I started with NE bc my cousin was playing it and taught me how. After TFT i got introduced to Dark Ranger and started going DR archers rushing chims every game ftw. After awhile it got boring and I started playing other races and had a lot of fun, to a point where all I do is random now!

I didn't play ROC that much, in TFT I started to play UD in AT with my pal
in solo I played Orc (after WCG 2004 there was no other choice!), but not much due to bad ping. That's when I started playing Random in bnet RT and played it ever since :icon_cool:

I barely played roc.
I discovered TFT on a LAN with friends in 2002 I think. I didnt know how to play it at all so even if everyone was a big noob, I was the worst of all. I thought that I should focus on one race so I could fill the gap between them and I for the next LAN.
I picked up undead because it looked cool, no one was playing it at the lan so that would make me some kind of special (they were mostly orcs then ne/hu). Next LAN I did fine.
That was kind of my curse after, played too much undead so whenever I tried another race (did not do so before something like 2008 when i tried human a bit) I was falling years behind in term of skill and coul not compete with others players.
Also im bored with human (kinda slow); ne bores me a little less but still... orc is imba when someone else is using it but not when I do.

Roc came out Summer 2002, and TFT a year later July/August 2003.
And i also started "serious" playing after TFT was released, since i had no internet connection at that time.

I was Random and decided to pick a race when I switched to TFT (I stayed in RoC way to long)
I picked UD because
1-The campaign ended with them
2-Mass garg was the single most imba thing in roc ffa (no orbs on hero, no bats, no air attack on tanks, no panda, etc)
I switched to HU after a while, because everyone was saying they had to tower in order to win, wanted to see if I could win with (almost) no towers
I switched to NE after a while, because no one in FML played it, and it was sad :(
I switched to HU recently, because I wanted to play a race that could actually win games

undead was retarded strong in RoC. DK LICH DL garg/wyrm was unbeatable.

I won season 12 for two reasons:
-There were no orcs in the semi finals
-There were no orcs in the finals

I picked elf for the boring reason that they had the unit called the huntress. And the huntress has glaive attacks which bounce to multiple targets. Also, huntresses are a tier 1 unit, so I never had to learn how to tech. Finally, the huntress could be massed at tier one vs every single race. Therefore, I picked elf.
Of course this was before I played FFA and had to learn to build other units (namely, chims and hippos).

i like casters, and undead casters are the most 'damaging,' so that's what I went with.
used to be humans, but then they made spirit walkers immune to polymorph..
although in 4v4 teams dotts can be fun because a lot of people go air, but so too can witch doctors, because no one really seems to pay attention to stasis traps, and everyone only seems to use shaman for bloodlust, so people freak out when you put lighting shield on their whole army right before they tp away..

my first game on bnet was a towerdefense i accidently join... guess what happened.
first 4 games i remember where:
1. ud: when i thought necropolis would earn me the gold on mines
2. ud: my first win with dl as first hero and infernal. my opponent begged to give him the win, lmao
3. elf: i used hidden protectors to attack his base early ( those had siege attack in the begin)
4. human: "abused" fast build altar and rax to overhelm those guys, who would not have units the first 5 mins :icon_biggrin:
undead heroes, especially the dl had the funniest comments. also i liked necros in roc rtīs. But basically i switched between races pretty early and played mostly random almost right from the start.

started NE, because archers + dotts were op!
then i went to UD because i am weird and like bugs.

Saw wc2 at a friend's house when I was little and thought it and Orcs were the coolest thing ever. Played a lot of random since I thought it would make me a better player but it was never as much fun as just playing Orc. For the horde!

I play hum because it is fun and has the most interesting match ups in the game imo. I picked up orc as second race so I could torture those fucking gay elves with bat riders, wyvern and fortified towers.

First contact with wc3 were tower defenses and dota on a lan party. I started in bnet with patch 1.17 playing orc until 1.24 i think. Human was always too difficult for me and required much micro so i didnt like it earlier until i was losing everytime in the orc vs hu matchup with orc so i decided to learn human. My first fml game was on goldrush if i remember well against johny.boy, rabbit and walking which was an epic one with much drama.
