June 9th Solo Tourny Signups/Information
« on: May 08, 2012, 01:20:25 am »
I will be organizing a Double-Elimination solo tournament.

Date: June 9th beginning at 0900 EST and it should last a good while into the afternoon.

Map pool
Echo Isles
Melting Valley
Secret Valley
Terenas Stand
Lost Temple
Turtle Rock
Twisted Meadows
Gnoll Wood

Tournament Rules
-Double Elimination format
-All matches will be best out of 3 except for the Finals which will be best out of 5.
-Each player will be allotted ONE veto per match, and maps may not be played more than once per match.  If finals require two matches maps may be replayed.

Game-day Procedures
-0900 EST : All participants are to log on to GGC.
-0915 EST : Bracket will be posted in a new thread, games begin.
-It will be participants responsibility to arrange hosting.
-Map choice will be randomly selected for the first game, loser picks the following maps.
-The WINNER of each match will be responsible for sending Redkeekee a PM on the FML web-site with the results in this format: "Match: Player1 vs Player2, Winner: Player1 (2-0)"
-The WINNER of each match will also be responsible for e-mailing the replays from the match to Redkeekee for the replay pack to be posted afterwards.
-The Bracket thread will be updated as Redkeekee receives results and matches may be played as soon as they are updated.

It will be bo3 to the finals, finals bo5.

I can increase the amount of players if there is an inordinate amount of interest.

I chose 9AM because there are more EU players than there are Pacific players.

I will decide on map pool closer to the date, but it will be from the standard 1v1 map pools.

and if you make it around noon-3pm est on a sat and a sun, that's only 6p-9p for most euros

If each round is a bo3 it will take a lot longer than 3 hours.  Assuming each round is approx 1 hour and that there will be 6 rounds that's a minimum of 6 hours till finals are over.  I'd rather start earlier so the EU people don't have to be on past midnight.
