2018 is about to end and what a turbulent year it has been. FML moving back to Battle.net, five patches, two FML seasons, TBR 3 and the announcement of Reforged.

While Reforged is great news for Warcraft 3 and hopefully revives the game from Q4 2019 onwards, our current path became rockier than we had hoped. More than probably any other community, we benefited from stable host bots, replay archives, custom ladder and much more. 1.30.2 killed all that and provided reason for general skepticism towards Blizzard. On one hand, it would be naive to think that the current Warcraft 3 scene outside of China has any significance from an economic standpoint. On the other hand, many of the changes and bugs do seem to be caused by sloppiness which is slightly concerning with regards to Reforged.
 
As this community is a personified cockroach, it will survive. Admins will meet virtually in January to discuss strategy, events and future of FML. Though, we want to kick-off the new year with season 29. We listened carefully to community suggestions in order to lure some of the cryhards back into FML. Despite potential ping and bug issues in the Battle.net, we plan to decrease the level of toxicity and sadness by 38%.

Structure

• Round 1 (Jan 1 – Jan 14): Random matchmaking
• Round 2 (Jan 14 – Jan 27): Winners of round 1 will select their round 2 enemies from pools.
• Round 3 (Jan 28 – Feb 10): Winners of round 2 will select their round 3 enemies from pools.
• Playoffs: Semi-final between rank 4-7. Final between rank 1-3 + semi-final winner

Points

The point structure (20-12-12-10 and +3 for top score) was slightly adjusted and every player will be ranked, depending on his individual score.

Maps

In order to avoid five hour matches, admins decided to exclude Hurricane Isle, Gold Rush and Sanctuary non-LV from the map pools for this season.
Admins will provide three potential maps for each match (in the scheduling thread). Each player can vote for one of these maps and whatever map gets most votes will be played.

If there is a tie, where two maps get two votes, whatever map had two votes first will be played. If all four players have posted their votes within the first 24 hours after the scheduling thread was created, admins will flip a coin to decide which of the two maps gets played.

Scheduling

Each player has to help scheduling his match, by posting his availability (at least 3 dates) in the forum within 48 hours after the respective scheduling thread was created. If he does not, he loses scheduling rights. The 48 hours do not only apply for initial posts, but also for all subsequent scheduling thread discussions (e.g. if three players agree on a time and the fourth player fails to respond within 48 hours, he also loses his scheduling rights). Whatever was discussed in other communication channels (e.g. Discord) needs to be logged in the thread as well, in order to be valid from an official standpoint.
