Question: matches generation
« on: December 09, 2011, 01:00:44 pm »
Curious, under Swiss system, are we going to play repeat matchups?

For example, I've already played Wreck, but we're at equal points in R4, so would I be able to match up with him again?

Not that it matters all that much, just curious how admins set up the games.

This is a good question. Last season we didn't do repeat match-ups because with 4 games, it was very possible. This season, because we have 6 games, it won't be possible. I'm going to do my best to continue to do no repeat matches for round 4, but once round 5 hits, anything goes!

Will it work for players like me, the people I'm currently tied with in points have played the only players near my points that I haven't played. I haven't looked at the possibilities of rebuke's match, but I think regardless for me to be in a game with nobody having a previous opponent would mean me in a 30-35 point players match?

Off the top of my head near the top I've played
4-7-8-9-10-11 ranked by current standings
1,3, 4 and 5 just played (lol)

hmmm it could work if you do

Yeah leave me with the sloppy seconds like Magadansky and Darkness (assuming he doesn't win).
