How does the map pool work

If there are 6 rounds, but 9 maps...

Or do the Q rounds count in as well, e.g. there will not be a normal deathrose (yay) or silverpine (nay) round? Semis and finals of course get chosen by players.

9 maps just allows for a larger map choice when the finals/semi's come around. For example, Deadlock was never used last season during the main season, but Magadansky chose it as his map during the Semi's because that map is very good for undead vs orc.

Their is a chance we wont ever play on Deathrose during the season, but Silverpine is a very popular map so that will likely get a round (although not till late in the season).
