Weekly Event - Get to know the community week 2!

Welcome all to week two of "Get to know the community!!"

Last week we discussed how we like our eggs during breakfast, and what a great time we had indeed!

This week, we will be discussing our favorite movie genre, and your favorite, or one of your favorite (since it's hard to just pick one) movies!

My favorite genre is science fiction or fantasy, simply because I consider them the only genres where they have unlimited potential for creativity, even if most of the garbage that comes out is relatively bad.

Did you see Oblivion yet?

I'm going to see Star Trek on Sunday.

Its impossible to pick one for me, since im not a hardcore fan of one genre.

Films i like contain :Science Fiction, Action, Thriller or Comedy or a mix of these.

Did not see Oblivion yet but it looks interesting.
And tomorrow im going to see ST: Into Darkness with two friends.

Black humor/comedy for me.  I can't stand dumb humor, but things like Little Miss Sunshine are awesome.

My favorite movies aren't actually comedy though.  All the Presidents Men is up there, and the first one to pop into my head.

If I had to pick one type, it would be action but I also usually enjoy anything comedy/thriller/horror.

Fantasy can also be really good (LOTR) or really bad.

Well i took romance since my favorite movies are Pretty Woman and Dirty Dancing. I also love the romaitc parts in Titanic. Im always crying during these movies and cover behind my blanket when i get too excited.

Payback, The Ninth Gate, Dead Man, Pitch black, Taxi Driver, Blade Runner, Black Swan, Terminator, 28 Days Later, Leon, Heat, Alien, Snatch., Silent Hill, The Silence of the Lambs, Aliens, etc, etc...

i think we had that movie theme some years ago.

i like almost every genre, although a good genre-mix often is the best, unless itīs not more than 2-3 types based.

maybe u could also add superhero-movies as a category since thatīs the genre, which grew the most over the past couple years.

some of my favourite movies from different genres:

comedy-mix: kick-ass, zombieland, a somewhat gentle man

horror: the skeleton key, the devilīs rejects

sci-fi: serenity,     oblivion was the latest i saw. liked the first half a lot, pretty neat design and a good mix of known sci-fi elements. 2nd half was lala, but still worth a watch.

next movie i probably gonna watch at home: red state    , at cinema :  Star Trek ( usually not a fan of the series, but movie looks pretty good )

favourite series atm: arrested development, game of thrones

Yes! Great list. Though, not a fan of the Dark Knight rises myself, replace that with Eternal Sunshine on a Spotless Mind and thats probably my top 5 there. With that said... I dont' think any of them are actually SciFi... lol, I swear I do like SciFi the most though! I swear! >.>
