KoFFA Round 2, Let's Go!
« on: June 24, 2013, 10:48:38 am »
:FMLN:

Well folks, we’ve successfully made it through the first round of King of FFA II!  The games went smoothly (or so I’m told), and it seems like everyone had a lot of fun.  The results showed a good mix of veteran FFA players and newcomers at the top, and most importantly I don’t think we drove anyone away from playing FFA!

I’ll give a quick recap of the rules and results from Round 1 before we move on to our Round 2 signups.

Quote from: King of FFA II rules
# of rounds: 5 Rounds (One Every Weekend):
1: 12 Man FFA (June 21st - 23rd)
2: 8 Man FFA (June 28th - 30th)
3: 6 Man FFA (July 14th - 16th)
4: 12 Man FFA (July 21st - 23rd)
5: 4 Man GRAND FINAL!
Player Maximum: UNLIMITED!
Date: June the 21st to July the 23rd
Match Times: 3 Set times per weekend:
Friday at 6PM EST - 24:00 CET
Saturday at 3PM EST - 21:00 CET
Sunday at 12PM EST - 18:00 CET
Signing Up

Each Round will take place on 3 separate days and times. From Monday to Thursday people will sign-up for which day they would like to play on, and they will then be added to the match scheduled for that day. If you are unable to make it to a match for a week, its not a problem, you will never be disqualified for only making it to a limited number of matches. Show up when you can!

You can only sign up for one match per a week.  However, if you don’t win your match then you can show up to sub/fill in for later matches.  If you win, you’re done for the week.  Players that have not yet played a game will be given priority over players who have played already.

Games will be done on a first come first serve basis.  However, if enough people sign up multiple games will be created!

The Points

12 Man FFA, starting with first place working down to 12th
30, 15, 15, 10, 10, 10, 5, 5, 5, 1, 1, 1

8 Man FFA, starting with first place working down to 8th
25, 15, 15, 10, 10, 5, 5, 1

6 Man FFA, Starting with first place working down to 6th
25, 10, 10, 5, 5, 1

Prize: Winner of the season will get an awesome signature banner that Worpex has created for us.  It looks like this:

The results from Round 1 can be found below and will kept in spoiler boxes:

Game 1 of our King of FFA II event, it was able to live up to all the hype that it deserved.  On a map (Divide and Conquer) that usually results in a battle of the corners, most of these players decide to break the norm and play their own style.  This game features over 50 hero kills, many hero ultimates, an insurmountable number of tanks, lots of teaming and tons of nuking, with many known FML players and some rising stars.

Game 2

Game 2 of our King of FFA II event.  An almost purely FML/FFA cast took the stage in this one, including our reigning King, FML|Renaud.  Has the king grown complacent, or would we find out that he’s been sharpening his sword and getting ready to take on the insurgents?  The map, Emerald Garden, is not a map that traditionally sees a lot of play.  However, it seemed to serve well for this game.  Creating lots of intense fights and high level heroes galore, you’ll have to watch to see if the king remains throned or is de-seated during the brawls!

Game 3

Our final game of King of FFA II Round 1 featured a lot of FML players mixed with some new blood.  Heavy favorites like Magadansky, Lightweight, and DFM took to the battlegrounds on the FML version of Divide and Conquer.  Like the first time around, the map proved to be a big success, creating many great fights and combinations of heroes that can take down entire armies on their own.  Who would end up taking home the last win?  Watch and find out!

Just a reminder, it doesn’t matter if you’ve played or not played.  Won or gotten last.  No showed or just couldn’t show.  Anyone can play in any round.  Play as much or as little as you want!  Signups for the second round of King of FFA II can be found HERE!

Just a note, those in Friday's Game 2 will be awarded the points they won, they will also be able to sign up for other days if they'd like though.
