I am currently unable to do it tomorrow. I'm busy in the morning and apparently I promised my wife that I am going to a football game.

Sunday or next week / weekend is when I can do it.

gg to blood, he won our 1v1. I showed weakness and 20 bats later, rest is history. I assume he got teamed down after I left?

Sanctuary one of the very best maps, yet a terrible 4-player map.

My vote is on Meson de la Taberna.

Mon-Thur I can start a game from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm CET, or 1:00 AM to 8:00 AM CET.
Saturday / Sunday not sure yet, but same sort of hours. (though would much rather play during the week)

General Discussion / How has FFA actually changed after the patch?
« on: June 27, 2018, 09:18:15 am »
I haven't played a single game for a few months. Just wondering how the general meta has changed, hero usage, and balance-wise?

Do the DL, Tinker, Alchemist, MK buffs show pretty well? How did UD and Elf change?

Just more completely remove them from your computer. You can put the w3arena folder on a thumb drive if you want to still have it. Once you do that, uninstall every trace of it and reinstall it with valid CD keys. add/remove program utility, use search function to find everything war3 related, etc.

Ladder Seasons / Re: playFFA ladder breaking news

Man I got rekt like 4 times in a row (mostly by DV I think), but then the one game that I won it didn't record. lul

Btw map rotation feels like 20% of the time you play on Silverpine / Twilight / Market / Sanctuary / Goldrush / Northshire / Deadlock, whereas that should be 80%.

Ladder Seasons / Re: playFFA Ladder | Maps

I think it intelligent if 75-85% of FFA bot time was spent on these maps only:

-Silverpine
-Twilight Ruins
-Market Square
-Sanctuary
-Harvest of Sorrow
-Gold Rush
-Northshire
-Monsoon* (?)
-Deadlock* (?)

*ugly tile-sets

Like or dislike those maps, I think they have stood the test of time as popular ladder maps. The more that is deviated from those, the less popular the bot will be (this isn't subjective, and 'less popular' is a massive understatement).  Even at the height of the playffa ladder, a standard map like deathrose could take up to 30 minutes to fill up, because it's just not popular at all, whereas any of the ones I listed could take 2 minutes. I think the lower skilled players enjoy being in a 6 - 10 person game  (for obvious reasons), and they are an integral part to keep the bot actually going.

Maps like:
Storm Mount, Thunder Lake, TR Crazy, Andorhal, Phantom Grove, Twisted Meadows, Gnoll Wood, or any of the "crazy" maps like 12 spawn two rivers / twisted meadows, I think all are unhealthy in one degree or another to the bot. Not that they are bad maps or make for bad games, it's just low popularity on a bot that lives or dies on popularity. I think random heroes are fine @ like 25-35%.

In terms of the other 15-25% of the time that is not on the popular maps, I think that's when you could try out new or different maps. Banewood Bog is a great example. Incredible map—one of my favorites—but it should appear on a bot like 1/4 the time that silverpine does. That shouldn't even be an argument at this point.

Strategy / Re: NE vs Orc 1v1
« on: March 18, 2018, 02:28:31 pm »
Against mass Orc ground you don't need talons, but a couple might help. Just pure roared chim, some faerie, and scrolls. Mass chims (real mass, not this 30 food in workers where you hit someone and cry once they beat you  "teal win, he kill my army, gg" 80 food bs, but real 100 food chims).

Also you need to target the army not the heroes.

Yeah you are right. I probably undervalue those vs light air because I fight dirty, have higher APM, or am using the Alch.  Devotion aura can be Okay versus bat heavy Orcs.

But that being said, I find simple inventories stronger for me. Elf army is already extremely powerful, I just need to keep my unhealable heroes alive, and have the ability to heal my army with scrolls. Everything else just a bonus, and I find value in Orbs / staffs.
