News / Re: FML Season 30 | Semi-Finals
« on: May 03, 2020, 04:27:42 pm »
Finalists

:Germany: :orc::hu: Shave
:Russia: :ud: qwest

Congratulations Shave and qwest for their well deserved final spot.
I never thought I'd read the nick "Shave" in a final game. Especially as the 1st finalist! Good luck and hopefully you'll get a new laptop by then!

Semi-Final 1

:USA: :ra: Seksi
:USA: :ra: Peregrine
:Russia: :ra: Neytpoh
:Russia: :ne: laegoose

Yet another cold war thriller between USA and Russia. We have 2 of the most senior players in our community with Eshan and Seksi. Neytpoh and laegoose are making Russia proud in this semifinal. Neytpoh is microwise the strongest here who might get teamed to death. The biggest challenge for him will be staying cool in the heat of the game and forge alliances with players but also breaking peace at the right time.
Personally I think that if Eshan survives an early rush by one of his opponents he will excel with his experience and understanding of the game.

Semi-Final 2

:USA: :ra: Alien
:Sweden: :ra: Junkerzam
:France: :ra: SyDe
:France: :ne: ilares

So who do we have here?
First Alien, I'm glad you made it to the semi finals despite your busy schedule with Family and running your successful business. This is a example of real FFA skill.
Reigning champion Junkerzam who has all the chances to make it to the finals yet again.
To me it's flabbergasting to see two French newcomers in a seminal.
SyDe is one of the most talented active undead players in Europe who seems to enjoy his trips to the FFA world. I was impressed how fast he learned the game mode.
SyDe has probably the best kiting in the league right now. He has shown great performances (taking 1v2 fights) throughout the season. I look forward to see him play.
Ilares is another newcomer from France with a semi final participation. It will be interesting to see how the old world with Alien and Junker deals with the newcomers.
I vote for Alien! Cause he's #1

« on: September 24, 2018, 12:46:30 pm »
So here we go. A new season of FML and I am really excited about it.
Now to the predictions:

Match 1

:ra: :Germany: Joggel
:ne: :USA: Donald-Trump
:ra: :USA: Eshan
:ne: :Argentina: supremo

The bigger the map the higher chances Eshan wins the game. I have seen all of his TBR games it'll be interesting to see how he adapts to this situation. Donald will try to pull of a blockbuster suicide on Eshan. Joggel is a very active bot player and might win this here, too. Supremo will probably be tomed early on.

Match 2

:ne: :USA: Mog[skynet]
:hu: :Peru: SuperCumulo
:ud: :France: Ugrilainen
:ne: :Germany: Trunkz

Showdown with 3 FML champions and Monsieur Ugri. With the new patch Cumulo will probably have a harder time against Trunks than in the previous finals. Ugri will probably be out first depending on whether his secret china netease macro strategy works out. Mog and Cumulo will need to have to ally pretty early to beat Trunks. Naga mana shield lvl 3 will tank everything away in late game hero arena.

Match 3

:orc: :Russia: b100death
:ud: :Russia: Jaod
:ra: :Lithuania: Peanut
:ne: :USA: Dovekie

b100death will probably hard core nerd the next days to gain back his old shape. Meeting his buddy Dovekie will probably motivate him even more. Jaod is really rusty lately.

Match 4

:ne: :Poland: Gradient
:orc: :Russia: Jiexa_b
:ra: :USA: Seksi
:ud: :USA: Vyvanne

Either Seksi or Vyvanne win here. Both have played each other often on the bot ladder. Can't say much about Jiexa actually. Our most beloved cockroach Gradi will come up with the most beautiful base layout in the history of warcraft 3 bases.

Match 5

:ud: :USA: SteppinRazor
:orc: :Russia: Airenikus
:ud: :Bulgaria: jOeybadass
:orc: :Russia: mrSweets

Perfect cast of players for Airenikus to sit and hoard and take his victory with a 15k gold lead.

Match 6

:ra: :Finland: aarnikratti
:orc: :Albania: ena1337
:ra: :Germany: ToX
:orc: :Bulgaria: Godfather

Jesus I must not miss this one. Ena and tox in the same match. I was in the voice chat lobby back then when they shouted at each other. Ena will probably TC + mass raider rush ToX's base down. Aarni and Godfather will be a nice 1v1 to watch. Battle.net will probably burst after this game has ended.

Match 7

:orc: :Sweden: Fetta_ook
:ud: :Russia: Reinforcement-
:ne: :Peru: Headintheclouds
:ra: :Sweden: Junkerzam

Poor cement and clouds that won't stand a chance against a rigged swedish ffa mafia game that Junker will probably win. Both Fetta and Junker are featured in this music video in case anyone didn't know that yet.

Match 8

:orc: :Germany: Pinballmap
:ud: :USA: JSRGN
:hu: :Russia: AJIKAIII
:ra: :Germany: Slythe

So cool to see old players showing up for the new season. I look forward to Slythe's rants in the game  :icon_biggrin:

Ladder Seasons / Re: FFArena ladder breaking news
« on: February 18, 2018, 08:35:01 am »
- Technical upgrades you want to see on this bot that were lacking on the current one (anonymousness for example or else)

Ugri I think in the current state the bot is far away from what this great community deserves. When I think of the bot I see it as a gateway to FML, simple as that.

It needs to provide a great service where people enjoy playing their ffa games cross-realm with low latency.
It needs to attract new people where they explore the great possibilities this game mode offers compare to plain old 1v1/RT.
And please don't come up with your own website. FFAMasters.net should become the one stop shop for all your FFA needs. Therefore I suggst to fully integrate it into our current website.
People can see the current ladder with stats of all players (just like Battle.net Ladder Page or w3arena).
Due to the auto saving functionality of the bot people can download all replays from the games played. This is to improve your game and report cheaters or rule breakers.

Thankfully, we have working bots with toom.io (noot, egel, accu etc.) that implement these functionalities.
These bots also save their replays and provide the maps in case you are missing any. Please see here
https://archive.toom.io/wc3/replays

I suggest you to talk to niels on discord about the setup.

- Would you pay for the bot fees? Should not be too much money (coming back for this one)

I am willing to pay for it if the whole concept is profound and sustainable

I look forward to hear your feedback on this.

Cheers,
mmt

News / Re: GRAND FINALS

:USA: :ne: WRECKTIFY [BM]
:Germany: :ne: Trunks [Ena]
:Germany: :hu: QQs [Ena]
:Hungaria: :ud: Tyrant [Zig]

So here we go.  The FML champ invites the remainder of the cast to his bedroom to play the finals. I think if you wanna win the title you must make sure that Wreck gets rushed out quickly.
Tyrant is the player no one will pay attention to (just like for the whole season). I doubt he will win this title though.
Trunkz is the favorite here due to his so far splendid performance. He is the major contester of Wrecktify. Wreck will make sure not to give Trunkz the help needed hes asking for. QQs can hit it big here if he somehow manages to hoard a lot of gold because other players are busy manipping.
The longer the game goes the stronger Wreck will be.

Lets go Sunday 2017.12.24 20.00 CET?

Peanut #1

just ! ping host -t !dont work for u ? all includet in windows!
1just Win+r type cmd run
2type ping host -t thats all lol  :icon_neutral:

This is a great question.

When we play a Warcraft III game a TCP/IP endpoint on port 6112 is established.
For example ams.toom.io:6112 (Amsterdam hosting bot) or mia.toom.io:6112 (Miami hosting bot).
The question is what is our ping to the bot on this specific port (obviously)?
Your method only does an ICMP ping. This can only tell us whether ams.toom.io is reachable. Unfortunately this does not tell us how our in-game ping is.

This is the reason why I decided to make a guide that can reliably determine the ping.

Hope this helps!

General Discussion / [mmt Release] FMLReplayDownloader v1.0
« on: November 26, 2017, 07:53:48 am »
Hello,

Niels one of the bot admins has made all replays hosted on toom.io publicly available.
This means our amsterdam, london and miami inhouse games can from now on be downloaded from this site.
https://archive.toom.io/#!/wc3

Missing maps can also be downloaded there in case you don't have them.

At this point I would like to introduce the FMLReplayDownloader I came up with this morning.
Basically it goes ahead and downloads all replays or maps to the output path you specify.

How does the FMLReplayDownloader work?

Requirements:
Windows Operating System
The ability to follow my guide and use some CLI

1.) Download the FMLReplayDownloader
Download it from here
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1B6krYL5WNuwXyA-4jw-BPPgPYs2FyKlS/view?usp=sharing

Unzip the all files to a directory of your choice (You must remember the directory path)

2.) Fire up Powershell ISE
Start -> powershell ise

3.) ChangeDirectory, Import-Module
I have downloaded and extracted the files in this example to c:\temp\fmlreplays

In powershell ISE type in the following in the console

cd C:\temp\FMLReplays

Pro tip: Use a jedi trick called auto-completion. Press CTRL + SPACE
Select the FMLRepalyDownloader v1.0.dll
Import-Module FMLReplayDownloader v1.0.dll

Now go ahead and
Get-FMLReplays -DownloadType replays -OutputPath C:\temp\YourReplayFolder

You may specify any output path you like. The program will if necessary create that folder. You must have the needed rights to create a folder.

Again.. Auto-completion is your friend. Use CTRL + Space while navigating in console.

If you would like to download maps simply replace "replays" with "maps"
It should look like this
Get-FMLReplays -DownloadType maps -OutputPath C:\temp\YourReplayFolder

Hello gentlemen,

as we all know the game lobby does not display your real ping to your bot.
Due to this fact I have decided to come up with a guide on how to check your real world ping to the game bot of your choice.
You can easily determine the best bot (ping wise) to play on for you.
This guide will take some steps. However once set up correctly you will have a handy tool which can tell your ping at all times (running in the background if you want).

Requirements?
Windows Operating System
Acceptance to use commandline shell (cmd.exe) for ping tests
Follow my steps exactly as I state

Summary of what we do:
- Download psping (Sysinternals tool, Official Image Signed Microsoft Product)
- Add psping as a system environment variable so you can fire it up directly from commandline shell
- Perform a ping check for a game bot

Steps:
1.) Download the magnificient psping.exe tool from Sysinternals
www.live.sysinternals.com
Navigate to psping.exe and download it to a location of your choice. You need to remember the exact location of it (!).
Recommended:
Use C:\temp (if you dont have that directory, proceed to create a folder)
For the following steps I will use C:\temp as the path where psping.exe is located.

2.) Add psping.exe as a system environment variable
Windows -> Type 'systempropertiesadvanced.exe' in input box

Now press "Environment Variables"

In Systemvariables navigate to PATH
Press "Edit"
Add in Value of variables the following entry ";C:\temp"
Do not forget the semiciolon and make sure that this is the correct path!

It should look like this

Again.. make sure the semicolon is correctly set and the path is the right one
(I used C:\temp in this guide)

3.) Perform a ping to a game bot
If you have set up everything correctly. This will be your starting point to do game ping checks!
We use only cmd.exe (powershell.exe also works) to use psping.
Open cmd by Windows -> cmd.exe

Now check your ping to a game bot. I will use ams.toom.io:6112 in this example.

psping -t ams.toom.io:6112

(CTRL + C and right click in cmd to paste it  :icon_cool:)

Feel free to use any other game bot / internet site / etc.

Well how do I stop the program from pining?
Use CRTL + C or simply close the window. You may keep the window opened while mass tanking your opponents down in game. It does not have any online game experience impact.

Good job young padawan! You have taken your first step into a larger world of CLI.

Cheers,
mmt
