The scenarios Red described seem bad to me, that doesnt usually happen in FFA games. If its minor i guess its okay, but there should be a difference between pause TO manip and manipping while someone else pauses. Theres nothing wrong with the second case. If someone goes away, you can talk or manip, and when that player gets back he can read the log before unpausing and respond. As long as his total time is under 10 mins pause. No one should be rewarded for pausing and wasting 3+ other players time Personally i take my shits before a game so i have no sympathy for long pauses, unless theres an emergency March 01, 2017, 04:18:39 pm |

Ok we had this agreement with profforg and many players on how to save and finance the ffa ladder. I thought it was good enough. I cannot really pursue this right now because W3arena wants to proceed differently, and include FFA into an higher scale solution for all the problems that lunaghost closing creates. I do not know what is that solution. Sorry to leave you hanging like that but I am in a situation which would probably lead to conflicts if I do anything more. I've put w3arena in contact with profforg. My baby playFFA has grown up, and I do not control it anymore!  If whatever plan they have fails, I'll jump back in. If it works it is all good. The rule about minimum 2 games was to ensure any active players would get to play at least a couple games rather than being put on the bench. The rule didn't cover the situation where players quit the team or became inactive. For those cases we allowed replacements or having an extra player play 3 games. No team abused this, and everything worked out, thankfully!

Situation is quite awkward with the bots still up 2 weeks after they were supposed to be shut down. This creates a limbo situation where everything is frozen. Ive been talking a lot with Profforg about what really needed to be done to keep ffarena in shape, from ELO calculations to overall configuration. What ffarena will really need is a team to manage it. I am here when needed but cannot do the day per day management. Previous team formally or de facto mostly quited. So far only Paulquappe showed interest on acting as admin on it. Profforg said he would be able to kill the infamous "building loss bug". I am very curious about this, I know that onligamez russian bot seemingly managed to do it, so it should be possible. That would be one of the gain of the change, and less work for the admins that should then just have to work on hacking report and season organization. March 29, 2017, 08:55:00 pm |
