Re: Regular Season Wrap Up Thats the format we used in Season 23, so it was done before. It's Swiss-style pairings. Was a fun season although I remember there being some drama about some players having an easier path to the play-offs then others because of the way the seeding worked. You could game the system a little bit.

@ZsSuperCumulo S23 was a Red7z7 season, not a magadansky one.

Forming team for 4v4 tournament If you want to win, I am forming a team. Now the type of people I am looking for are the upper echelon of FFA players who are also capable solo players—talking 180-250+ apm players with micro in early game and late game situations, who are capable of adapting when shit hits the fan. Preferred strong experience with at least 2 races.

I have experience in solo, FFA, & a ton in both 4's RT and 4's AT. Here are my last 3 accounts doing 4v4 RT during Christmas break.

If winning the tournament sounds like something you are interested in and would be dedicated in trying to do, and you are one of the type of players I outlined, then let me know.  Because of the prize pool, there will probably be at least a strong team or 2, probably from Europe, comprised of solo players who are better than any of you at the game—this is why I need some big (FFA) names if we are going to beat them, who understand late game and early game situations alike, and are willing to cheese the hell out of people if needed. If the right team is formed and the desire is there, winning will be the only option.

Having a mic to communicate in discord is a must.

Re: Warcraft 3 Patch 1.29
1.29 will end w3a if they don't adapt. If W3A updates there is no doubt its a better environment than b.net. If they don't though, I see no reason to keep using it after 1.29 is released unless the patch is released in a very buggy state. Widescreen support, 24 players in a game, balance updates, map changes, CL buffed.... I see only positives over 1.26.

FML/FFA Ladder will utilize the exact same bots on w3a or bnet. There will be no difference in ping.

If there's no difference in ping why haven't we been doing this all along?   Not getting Instant banned for making a new account is a plus.   I can also play 4s then without having to fucking patch back and forth.

Re: Beginners FML FFA Guide in ffa the game can (and will) shape itself around your mistake(s), with the last mistakes becoming more and more critical and less forgiving

in solo you will get shit on for every mistake no matter how tiny

ffa is not the place to compare skill, solo is

ffa is fun, solo is not

or so I think

Re: Beginners FML FFA Guide Solo has a far higher skill cap then FFA.  In theory, FFA is harder to win (25%) then a solo (50%) assuming generally equally skilled player but that does not mean FFA is harder to master then solo.  In FFA, if you have good micro, gold management, and understand the gametype you can be a very strong player.  Solo requires a tremendous in-depth understanding of every matchup, every map and its affect on every matchup, pin-point timing (sometimes literally 10 seconds window of opportunity), and punishes tiny mistakes ridiculously hard.  The guys who are top solo pros have to play like 12 hours a day to maintain that level of skill.

That being said, I hate solo and would rather play FFA any day ;D
