Re: M19 Result

I tried to summarize this match in one picture  :icon_cool:

Re: TBR Day 1 Results! TBR2.1

13 years into Warcraft 3, this was probably the match I flipped out most. That second zeppelin loss was absolutely insane. On one hand I feel sorry for young fella Sweet, on the other hand it was him questioning me picking Dinamo. In your face!!!  :icon_twisted:

TBR2.2

I hate tanks! Sorry for this painful match. According to DV, at least I got the basics. Yay! Fear me!  :icon_biggrin:

Re: TBR2 Concludes! It was a pleasure and great fun to be part in this TBR. Thanks to all admins.

Teams seemed quite balanced and it was a cool mix of standard ffa matches and unusual game modes.

If I could change something, it would be the "truth card", which I think is not necessary and only useful for suicide missions. Furthermore, I think the team matches were rewarded with too many points (15 instead of 20 might have been better).

Re: Week 1 Matchups I wasn't part of this community before 2017 and missed many years of fabulous FFA, but damn was I looking forward to these predictions (Wreck's in particular). Here are mine:

:MS: M1

:Russia: :orc: Airenikus [Rage]
:Germany: :ra: Slythe [BM]
:Sweden: :orc: Fetta_ook [Inc]
:Argentina: :ne: Supremo [FREE]

Eshan is right, Pizza Supremo sounds tasty, but not sure if that's going to help him winning here. Fetta will provoke Slythe into suiciding him by gloomingly bragging about the items he found. Shortly before taking home his victory, Airenikus performs a fetta stomp in Supremo's main. Supremo, not following the community for long, is fully unaware of this strategy and, in a state of shock, sacrifices his DH into Samuro's blades.

:TL: M2

:Germany: :ne: HighTac [Rage]
:USA: :ne: WRECKTIFY [BM]
:World: :orc: Betoon [Inc]
:Poland: :orc: dragao [FREE]

After watching too many recent replays of Shave, Wreck will lose his DR to creeps early. With great foresightedness, my APs were already built next to his main to recklessly exploit his painful loss. Orcs will just blindly search the map for my main, but won't find it, since I'm disguised in Wreck's main now. Transmute will finish the job.

:ES: M3

:Finland: :ne: Aarnikratti [Rage]
:Lithuania: :hu: EvilPeanut [BM]
:USA: :orc: IWANTWC4 [Inc]
:World: :ra: DkHDennis [FREE]

As I heard, DkHDennis still thinks he signed up for a 2v2 competition. So be it. I already briefed Aarni to team up with Peanut, just having a piece of the Baltic Sea between themselves. That edge will help them to end the game before Peanut gets his AM to level six and messes up everything with his horrible usage of mass TP.

:FM: M4

:Denmark: :hu: zTsoso [Rage]
:Russia: :ne: Dinamo [BM]
:Germany: :orc: MrSweets [Inc]
:Poland: :ne: Gradient [FREE]

Every rage critter was advised to take at least five lessons in Polish, to be prepared for these exact situations. This will come in handy now. Being by far the weakest player on our team, we told Soso to keep a low profile and let Gradi do the work. Also Soso was told to play Pitlord Pala combo since I once successfully played these heroes in a random hero pub match.

:MS: M5
:USA: :ra: Seksi [CoR]
:USA: :ra: Eshan [Zig]
:Germany: :ra: SosoHasRedHair [SS]
:Germany: :hu: QQs [Ena]

Seksi seemed still kind of strong the first few days after he returned, but the Neon City match yesterday left me unimpressed. Use your owl damnit! If Shave survives creeping and starts chatting again during a potential 3-way, he may win, else it's Eshan's match to take. QQs will successfully hoard 20k and invest it profitably into books of retraining, since finance guy Eshan told him that's the way to do it.

:TL: M6
:Canada: :ne: Renaud [CoR]
:Hungaria: :ud: Tyrant [Zig]
:France: :ne: Ponty [SS]
:Russia: :ud: Spielmann [Ena]

I'm sad that we don't see famous Nelfs as Wreck or Renaud in daily inhouse FFAs, so I can only assess their skill level via FML VoDs. Renaud and Tyrant might be good, but not in shape maybe. Ponty accidently picks UD as his race, but prefers to observe anyway. So he immediately sells mine and necropolis at the start. I quite liked what I saw from Spielmann so far (especially his hero choices), so I'll go with him.

:ES: M7
:Germany: :orc: Fail.Life [CoR]
:USA: :ne: Mog [Zig]
:Switzerland: :hu: Noexxx [SS]
:Australia: :orc: SweeT [Ena]

A match half of young blood. Unless Noe plays with touchpad, because he still hasn't gotten a mouse, he should bulldoze over his 1v1 enemy. Not sure if Fail.Life is aware of the common strategy "teaming for name". If he's on one side with either Mog or Sweet, it's definitely Noe's victory.

:FM: M8
:Peru: :hu: Zs.Supercumulo [CoR]
:Sweden: :ra: Junkerzam [Zig]
:USA: :ra: AlienWareOwnZ [SS]
:Germany: :ne: Trunks [Ena]

I think everyone in this match can consider him or herself as a winner if they manage to schedule it with Trunks. The latter would be a favorite here I think (despite his lag of FFA sense in my eyes), but stopped playing and rage quitted all matches I've seen in the last 1.5 months. Still, I think this is the most interesting and balanced match of the playday. If Alien gets Orc or UD when playing random, I think he wins.

Re: M22 Result To let me sum this up: Ping-wise, it makes absolutely no difference whether you join a game from Bnet or w3arena, if it's the same bot. The ping that is shown in the game lobby is not reflecting the true ping.

Of course it would be nice to have the same patch version on both realms, but please keep in mind that Blizzard implemented an entirely new patching structure with 1.28. From what I know, it's not easily possible to transition a custom realm like w3arena. Maybe we will see some updates or an entirely new realm in the near future, but for now, w3arena (apart from some downtime) is a good place to gather the community. Good ladder performance, public host bots, admin support, etc.

However, I agree with Mog that forcing w3arena may be the only way to reduce desyncs. Crossrealm is without doubt the #1 cause of that, particularly since the 1.28 patch.

Re: Round 4 Matchups!! Fetta Inc. vs Rage Critters vs Free Ena vs Suicide Squad

:TM: M25
:Germany: :orc: MrSweets [Inc]
:Germany: :hu: LssL [Rage]
:Germany: :ne: Trunks [Ena]
:Switzerland: :hu: Noexxx [SS]

Although Trunks doesn't seem to have returned to his summer skill level yet, he's still in beast mode. I really hope Noe is going to show up. If so, this could become a really interesting match, particularly on TM. Sweets and LssL are both decent solo players and I hope LssL as Rage Critter will go out of Trunks' way early.

:DL: M26
:World: :orc: Betoon [Inc]
:Russia: :orc: Airenikus [Rage]
:Austria: :ne: TomToast [Ena]
:France: :ne: Ponty [SS]

Interesting line up. Airenikus, Tom and Ponty all know how to win a match and Betoon doesn't need to be afraid of my mass hunts here. :icon_lol:

For my Rage Critter Mate, I hope that Ponty in rage mode and Tom in troll mode will tunnelvision each other.

:DR: M27
:Sweden: :orc: Fetta_ook [Inc]
:Finland: :ne: Aarnikratti [Rage]
:Russia: :ud: Jaod [Ena]
:Germany: :ra: SosoHasRedHair [SS]

There should be a ban for these kind of line-ups or at least a separate discord channel named "the after game flame channel". Thinking about it, that might not be the worst idea I ever had.

I've seen too many stacked BMs on Deathrose recently to really make a bet here. Whoever plays Orc (sorry Jaod) will have an edge.

:HS: M28
:USA: :orc: IWANTWC4 [Inc]
:Germany: :ne: HighTac [Rage]
:Germany: :hu: QQs [Ena]
:USA: :ra: AlienWareOwnZ [SS]

I just recognized I don't want to play a 3h match again. Damn, should've picked another map.

Free Agent Squad vs Zig Zag ZIGGURAT! vs Church of Renaud vs Bad Manneroths

:TM: M29
:Peru: :ra: Black-Magician [FREE]
:Hungaria: :ud: Tyrant [Zig]
:Peru: :hu: Zs.Supercumulo [CoR]
:Lithuania: :hu: EvilPeanut [BM]

Peruvian forces just munched a mushroom and double their power. This match (on TM) will depend a lot on how good the Magician is and how he handles the burden to be picked over ToX by Free Agent Squad. Cumulo and Peanut are top 3 human players and have an aggressive style. I hope Tyrant will play UD (difficult here, but I love to watch it) and hold on until 3-way.

:DL: M30
:Germany: :orc: Joggel [FREE]
:Sweden: :ra: Junkerzam [Zig]
:Canada: :ne: Renaud [CoR]
:USA: :ne: WRECKTIFY [BM]

Joggel has no luck with his lineups so far. Still, in his match last week he proved to be a very decent random player. I just hope he will learn how to try hard until the end and not lose focus (as in most matches so far). Wreck and Junker are in good shape and should be the favorites here. While Wreck impressed me with his irresistible co-casting, Junker is still underrated in my eyes. Rating him just by his performance in the previous two playweeks (Silverpine and Sanctuary), he's a top 3 player in my eyes. Just don't play orc or nightelf please!

Nonetheless, I have to mark Wreck as the favorite here, or he will stop casting with me.

:DR: M31
:Poland: :ne: Gradient [FREE]
:USA: :ra: Eshan [Zig]
:USA: :ra: Seksi [CoR]
:Germany: :ra: Slythe [BM]

Weird but promising line-ups this week. Contrary to M27, where chat will explode only after the game, I expect a very chat-heavy clash here. Mostly between Slythe and Eshan, garnished with some cryptic commentary by Gradi. When it comes to Seksi, only one thing is certain: He will be annoyed in this game. I can't really tell though, where he stands skill-wise. I have seen more weak than strong performances by him in recent weeks. If he's the only one who stays calm here, the favorite role is his.

:HS: M32
:Argentina: :ne: Supremo [FREE]
:USA: :ne: Mog [Zig]
:France: :hu: Valefort [CoR]
:Russia: :ne: Dinamo [BM]

Smart as he is, Supremo chose a map again, where he can ask for rehosting (because of lags), until he has his desired spawn position.  :icon_twisted:

Good line-up for Mog I would say. All his three enemies here astonished with spectacular decisions in their previous matches (Vale immediately cross-mapping on Freezing Fields, Supremo suiciding Life on Gold Rush and being notoriously incapable of hoarding, Dinamo being Dinamo). Could become interesting.
