:Peru: :hu: zS.SuperCumulo
:Finland: :ne: J33
:Peru: :ud: NoMercy2
:Russia: :ra: Dinamo

J33 is one of the top players, and will be underrated this season due to most of the active community not knowing about him (similar to Noexxx when he started to play the inhouse league.  Cumulo also had that 'unknown' advantage last season).  However, Cumulo is one of the top humans and plays the match up against Elf as good or better then anyone.  I see Cumulo taking this win here, but it should be interesting.

M2

:Sweden: :ra: Junkerzam
:USA: :ra: Eshan
:Russia: :hu: AJIKAIII
:Sweden: :hu: :ne: Hudkraem

AJ and Hud have shown the capability of winning here for sure, but I like Eshan who is in good shape and is the most experienced player here.  I like Junker's game too, though haven't seen much of him lately.

M3: This game (Noexxx, Renaud, DV, Fatty) wasn't bad, DV had a tough time against Renaud the primary reason being he stayed 80 food against Reno's 100.  His reluctance to break into 100 in combination with a poor fight outside of his base led to his downfall.  Renaud played well to start the game, but once it was a final 1v1 his micro and lack of AMS pots really hurt him against Noexxx.  Fatty was the noob in this game, Noexxx took his time to properly tome him to gain the level advantage against Renaud.  WP Noe, even though the 4th player couldn't compete with the first three.

M4

:Ukraine: :orc: Nline
:Russia: :ud: Qwest
:Russia: :ra: SQK.GreatWALL
:Germany: :orc: icedr4g0n

I don't like Qwest's play style much, but he is a good player who is tricky and knows how to win against strong competition.  I'd like Nline to win and love to see him play well, but his finals performance (gold management, passiveness) left more to desire.  Icedr4g0n has yet to show his worth.  Greatwall is one player who will be unknown to most, but at his peak can play really well and compete with anyone.  He was one of the main guys in the first PlayFFA seasons that were great and competitive (along with myself, Lightweight, Toyota, Yane etc.)  It will be interesting to see how he plays and handles Nline and Qwest.

M5

:Sweden: :orc: Fetta_ook
:Germany: :orc: Pinballmap
:Germany: :ne: CallMeImba
:Germany: :orc: QQs

One of the easier match ups.  I'm not sure about QQs, Pinball doesn't play enough to be in good shape probably... CMI can play well but may not perform well against the bats of Fetta.  Gold management will be key here for CMI who has an opportunity to get an early 25 pts.  I will go with Fetta as the slight favorite.

M6

:Denmark: :hu: zTsoso
:Germany: :orc: :ne: :ud: FAiL.Life
:Australia: :ra: Sweet
:Russia: :orc: KENT2566

Not too difficult of a match up either, but soso may find himself teamed against these players.  I remember Fail.Life from some seasons back, it will be interesting to see how he has adapted his FFA game.  I don't know much about Kent, and Sweet while showing promise hasn't really adapted a strong FFA game that I've seen yet.  @Soso: Nice breakdown of Alien and Maga, though where's mine?  :icon_wink:

M7

:Bulgaria: :ud: XoZ_Magadansky
:USA: :ra: SteppinRazor
:USA: :ra: Alien
:France: :ra: Ponty

Cool game, classic FFA foes.  Maga will always be a threat, but his game plan often wins in the late game through 3-way decision making.  I've always rooted for Steppin, let's see if he can start his season out strong.  FFApractice, aka Ponty has learned the game and become a player capable of winning.  Alien is my choice to win this game, who is probably my most improved player in recent times climbing the tiers into a considerable threat against anyone.  He may fall just under the radar of Maga and pull out a strong win.  I hope Maga and Alien fight, and Steppin and Ponty, should be a good game.

M8

:USA: :ne: Wrecktify
:USA: :ud: WorpeX
:Denmark: :ud: Tleilaxu
:Russia: :ud: JAOD

This is the easiest match for sure, each Undead player doesn't pose much of a threat to a strong Elf.  Undead has to play very well and be skilled to beat good Elves.  I may be wrong, Laxu could come with a necrowagon push (which is actually tough to stop as an unexpecting Elf.  Ask Persuade against Ugri).  Laxu has improved... who know's about JAOD... and WorpeX never plays.  Seems like an easy win for Wrecktify.

:USA: :ra: Seksi
:Germany: :orc::ud: Ostone
:France: :hu: Valefort
:Denmark: :orc: :ud: :ne: d4rk

I didn't have a chance to pick opponents until late, but I like this match up.  Idk who d4rk is, but Valefort is a solid opponent and Ostone is very good.  People may not know Ostone, but his Orc or UD can compete with anyone when playing well.  It should be a fun match up on Twilight.  gl to all

Let's try for Sunday @ any time.

It's real! And solid changes all the way around, surprisingly balancing FFA well.

I've called for Tanks to be 4 food for awhile now.  It's the fair change.  Human will still be at least as good as any other race, and Tanks will still own.

General Discussion / Re: FFA Symposium inhouse league

Hey looks good, but the point system is better with:

4 player - 2 pts
6-8 player - 3 pts
10-12 - 4 pts

Currently (1/2/3 instead of 2/3/4) a 4 player game is hardly worth it.  Winning a 6 way shouldn't be worth 2x the amount of pts as a 4-way.  With 2/3/4 scoring system, a 6-8 way is worth 1.5x the points as a 4 way which makes more sense.

I won't have much time to play, surely there will be more active players.

Ugri, unfortunately most of those Cups were on Saturdays... and I couldn't play! I did make it to one ISFF Cup Final (with Lightweight, Duck, some other undead), but lost that one.  Maybe you're right.  Hopefully FFArena ladder can be successful as PlayFFA ladder was.

Makes sense.  Current point system sounds good.

The idea behind top score getting 1 point (in a loss), rewards players for playing well but (usually getting teamed out in a leading position).  It encourages being active and fighting a lot.  The highest score player will often be the most active one.  Consider that one!

Nice idea, similar to "FML ladder" in 2012/2013.  A couple points:

You should have to state at the start of the game if its an official FFA Symposium Ladder game.  As simple as "FFA Ladder" at the beginning of the game.

The point system you have looks fine, but another idea is as followed:  You can +1 point for each other player in the game.  4-ways = 3 points, 6-ways = 5 points, 8-ways = 7 points etc.  This way, players are encouraged to play bigger and more epic FFAs (and can come back in a season by winning a huge FFA).  What do you think about this?

For some bonus points ideas:

+1 point for 10/10/10 heroes
+1 point for Highest Score (in a loss)
