Suggestions / Season 14 idea« on: August 20, 2012, 01:17:19 pm »
Seeing as playing the same players over and over has made game-play at times monotonous and predictable, I have an idea that could potentially add some flavor to spice up season 14.
It would require a lot of dedication from the players and staff, so I propose we make it a one division season with a small pool of players, such as 16 or 24. It will be a "smurf" season essentially. Worpex and other admins who aren't playing could perhaps assign certain players a different smurf of their own creation for each round. Granted this would mean we have to use the bot as well, since creation would be extremely annoying over ggc. We would have a group email thread for each round, where everyone details the times they can play, then an admin chooses a time that is good for all players. As we all know, we all play the same players over and over, with certain players being labeled in a certain manner. Does anyone else have any thought about this type of season? 81
General Discussion / New FFA Replay website.« on: August 18, 2012, 12:30:15 am »
Hello friends!
My good friends are nice enough to start up a brand new ffareplay website since the one we currently use is outdated, ugly, and out of service!! Our goal is to get ffareplays.com from slack, and host it ourselves. If this is not a possibility, then we will host it on another site, maybe ffareps.com We are open to suggestions for what is needed/wanted on the site. We are not going to add a forum or anything like that because it will mainly be a replay website, and splitting the community between 2 forums would be a bad idea. 82
League Discussion / Quarterfinal bracket speculation« on: July 31, 2012, 08:37:07 pm »
I'm probably wrong, but is this how the brackets will look based on current results?
4, 8, 9, 13 / 5, 7, 10, 12 / 3, 6, 11, 14 So that would mean.... Maga vs Wreck vs winner of East/West Semi Lillor vs winner of each game in west Duck vs winner of each game in east EAST 4 - Sparkle 8 - SurroundKing 9 - Mog 13 - Persuade 5 - Steppin 7 - Redkeekee 10 - Mage 12 - htrt 3 - Beljone 6 - Bright 11 - Renaud 14 - Ugri WEST 4 - Starshaped 8 - Q-Veta 9 - Kalimero 13 - Jehu 5 - Camp 7 - Rain 10 - mmmmk 12 - Darker 3 - LW 6 - Slythe 11 - Pinball 14 - Gnom I think this is right 83
General Discussion / FML Weekly WTF FFA Games!« on: June 03, 2012, 07:13:40 pm »
Greetings everyone!
Based on previous success during season 12 for "fun" type ffa's where we limit the rules to be very restrictive on the players, I am happy to announce that I will be hosting, or, at least representing a weekly ffa game on either Saturdays or Sundays where we make up silly rules to hopefully bring out exciting games for our viewers and players. I call these games the WTF FFA games, because the rules will be so bizarre that anything can and will happen. This thread will serve first and foremost as a way to see if people are geniuinely interested in playing these, as well as a way to brainstorm fun ideas for future possible games. Please feel free to post ideas of what you think would be a fun way to restrict the ffa gametype, (not too much now, as that might just be plain boring), to ensure maximum chaos and craziness. Some ideas I had. - Entire Map revealed - Editing a small map by tripling the number of players, such as Echo Isles to include 6 starting locations. - Editing a map to remove food cap and/or upkeep. - Restricting certain hero usage - Restricting air usage - Restricting teching - Mercs & Heroes only - No heroes at all Personal favorite - Editing the starting town hall to include all 4 workers. Enabling all players to quad race off the bat. Etc. Generally we want 6 players minimum, 8-12 players max, to reduce the possibility of a long boring game. (These games are generally for fun and for the spectators, thus forcing players not to hoard and force long 3-4 hour stalemates.) So before I schedule the first game I would like to hear everyone's opinion on these types of games, as well as ideas we could possibly include. Game 2 has been decided. Game title - Perfect Composition It will be hosted Sunday @ 1 PM EST (1900 CET). The map will be Divide and Conquer, any number of players welcomed, but it is a first come first serve basis. The rules have been applied to include: - No Restrictions - Starting Hall now has one of EACH worker, allowing for quad tech off the bat. - Goldmines increased to hold 50% more gold. 84
