Hello again! As many of you know, the old website is back up and working again. However, so far the majority of people have told me that we should stick with this new website, so that is exactly what we'll be doing. I'll continue to make this site better as time goes on and improve its functionality.

With that said, we need an update on the application process! We'll be running the league as a Swiss-Style tournament. This means, the people with higher scores will play against people with higher scores and vice versa. However, no one will play against another player twice. What this means for us, is we can accept a large amount of players into the league.

We used Round Robin in the past and that required a set number of players and everyone playing against each other once. With Swiss-Style, we can accept any number of players as long as it is a multiple of 4 and each player only plays against those of a similar skill level and not everyone. It will be a 4 round tournament, with the top 2 finishers auto-qualifying for the grand finals. Places 3-11 will be competing in the semi-finals for a spot in the grand finals. Top seeds in all play-off matches will receive map choice.

Now, here is the application list. This is not a list of those accepted into the league. If you do not see yourself below, you either just recently submitted your application or we did not receive it...

Last day for applications will be Sunday the 31st. The league will begin on the following day!

Lastly, I'll be away on vacation for the rest of the week. Renaud will keep this list updated and answer any questions that you may have!

wait i dont get it how will 'skill level' be determined? will the first round of games be randomly matched since everyone has 0 points? or is there like a regular season beforehand to determine skill?

in my humble opinion all games should be randomly matched as they used to and not set by any skill/thought process/fixing because FFA is such a hard gametype to define 'skill' and anyone has a chance to win any game

for the sake of simplifying the example, we will use 16 player


first round: all randoms, so 0-0-0-0, 0-0-0-0, 0-0-0-0, 0-0-0-0
2nd round: 25-25-25-25, 10-10-10-10, 10-10-10-10, 5-5-5-5
3rd round: 50-35-35-35, 35-30-30-20, 20-20-20-15, 15-15-15-5 (i think? might be some mistake)
4th round: ... complicated, but you get the jist of it?

basically you will be sorted by point and go vs ppl with the same amount of point as you do, this means that the "losers" will play against losers and have a better chance of winning, while the winners will play against winner and have a better chance of losing... until they go against losers for losing too much.

However, unlike the ell, you can't abuse it, since if you lose on purpose to have easier match, it also means you wont get qualified

Being that the games begin Monday August 1st?, how far in advance are we going to be able to know when the games are scheduled?

For me at least I need at least a day or two in advance to plan work around it.

I believe the palyers are matched up at the start of the week and then they arrange when they can meet to play. Each person plays 1 game a week. Is that right?

Is anyone know whats up with slythe? Maybe hes not at home for now, but im sure he would like to participate in the league. Dont know when he will back, probably soon, so i would like to add him too.

Once the application periods are over, we will post the match up ei
Renaud vs Red7z7 vs y.zenchenko vs SeksiReturns
and make an individual topic for every match.  In these topics, players will have to find a time where they can all play within a week, otherwise the admin will chose a time for them, while trying to accomodate the most player, and especially the player who made effort (to penalize ppl who simply post "no i can't play" without suggesting another time for example)

So technically, the league will last 4 weeks, then 1 week for the semi final, then 1 week for the finals; for a total of 6 weeks (well for the finals we are willing to wait longer to have the real players)

btw, if you applied and you do not see your name on the list after a day, TELL US!  Your application might not have been received!

Worpex said if there was 36 or more accepted applicants that there would be. Right now it looks like there are 35 but not all are accepted yet.

Worpex was pretty set on his Swiss style of tournament though so I'm guessing there will not be qualifiers, who knows though.

Thinking, what maybe about streaming   :icon_mrgreen: , Jusmin tv is full of streaming boring sc2 league and ladder games, dota and other games,  so if it is possible for free ... who knows.... :icon_mrgreen:

My problem with streaming, is that, unlike in a solo game in wc3 or sc2, there can be some downtime. Enough downtime to minimize the game and watch the steam for a bit - or - have it on a separate monitor and watch.

In the past, we used Waaagh! TV for streaming since it uses the warcraft 3 game to stream and you can't have both the game and it up at once. It seemed to work fine.

Now, I'd be perfectly fine if someone did start up a TV channel and broadcasted replays of games and maybe some commentary on replays. I'm still not sure about live streaming though... if someone has a good idea to overcome the issue, I would love to hear it.
