Title: Name Pronunciation Thread
Post by: FML|Mage on October 24, 2013, 12:17:08 pm: Okay, I know that in shoutcasts I have mispronounced many of your names and I apologize. To try and correct this I'm creating a thread where people can correct me or just say how their name is pronounced.

Actually in France we translate far less English words than in Canada, so yeah, we use 'underscore', 'home cinema', 'smartphone' and english words like that

Edit: Apparently the audio button is working better multiple years later, seems to pronounce it right now.

French by google is just all letters said one by one, I guess a french guy would say (I'm french) vorpéx

Post by: normalice on November 05, 2013, 03:26:58 pm: i doubt you'll ever see my name in a shoutcast, but it's pretty much how it looks - at least that's what I would have thought but have heard people mis-pronounce it in the past.

Easiest way to remember is to just say "nor" and then "malice". 'mal' for short. 'normal malice' for long. 'normal' also works. But really I'm too noob to be in a shout-cast-worthy game unless I'm subbing as a joke or something, so here's to useless information!

heh. yeah, it was inspired by a song called 'everyone hates everyone' by Superjoint ritual. I don't particularly care for the song, or the band even, but the song name struck a chord..

My name comes from a novel so I cannot be 100% sure I am pronouncing it as intended.
