Title: How to use Warcraft 3 1.26 AND 1.27

Ive noticed that some of you are having problems to use wc3 with 1.26 and 1.27. (if you want to play w3a you need 1.26 and when u enter bnet u have to have 1.27)

Here's a simple manual how to switch between those two versions with just few clicks:
If you are on 1.27 already and want 1.26:

1. Load Replaykit and put the files into your WC3 folder

2. Just execute replaykit.exe (in your wc3 folder)
3. Doubleclick a random 1.26 replay
4. Exit Wc3
5. You are now again on 1.26 and can use w3a

If you are on 1.26 and want 1.27
1. Click battle.net and wait :D


Replaykit can also be used to watch all the older replays. (1.07 - 1.25)

You need old version of replaykit.

it works for me. hm i dont know i thought theres only one version of replaykit


edit: ah ok Nierenschredder already updated replaykit for 1.27. Ill try to get the old version.

Still, there is a quite handy solution with the new ReplayKit and 1.27. Start a replay of 1.26, let ReplayKit patch Warcraft and as soon as the game opens, tab out and kill the ReplayKit.exe process. This way you stay at 1.26 and you can easily revert to 1.27 later on by using the recovery guide of ReplayKit. (Killing the process can be done with Task Manager. On Windows 7+ go to Details, select ReplayKit.exe and click "End Task" and then "End Process").

And there is more  If you don't like this approach, wait some days until I release the new ReplayKit. It will finally come with a GUI that allows to easily make use of all features AND allows you to manually patch Wc3 to a specific version. Makes it even more powerful. Stay tuned :P
