SEASON 13
Everyone Against Everyone...
With a gametype which is so dependent on luck, you would think that the best FFA players would get beaten eventually... right? Wrong. Despite the constant criticism about our favorite gametype, the best players seem to find their way back at the top over and over again. Here in the grand finals of S13, we found out that the playoffs were almost a complete waste of time as the Rank #1&2 of each division has managed to beat the odds.
Lets take a look at this cast, shall we?
:USA: :ud: PLZLEAVEDUCK
The player who has received the most negative feedback in the league for being an unskilled FFA player... turns out to be a pretty good FFA player. During the regular season, the "Crypt Fiend King" was known for rushing players out and doing little in the way of securing a good economic position for himself. His most notorious accomplishment during the season was taking out 2 elf players with 1 crypt fiend! His micro is intense and one of the strongest in the league which gives him an advantage when playing aggressively.
In the play-offs however, Duck showed everyone that he can play a standard FFA if he has to. Securing the best economic position for himself, he took home the win with "Bone Rain". How will he approach the grand finals? I have no idea. Look for him to be the Dark Horse in this game. How he plays this match could decide the fate of the rest of the players!
:Germany: :hu: Humans7ar
While his name isn't new in the FFA scene, Humi came into this tournament as a completely unknown player by cleverly masking himself as the upstart known as "lil0r". It didn't take long until his trademark style gave his identity away! With a combination of solid mechanics and devious manipulation, he has risen to the top of the league for a second time! His previous experience in the Grand Finals was in Season 10 where he just barely lost the game by only one building.
Humans7ar is one of the most solid players in the league. It's rare to see him make glaring mistakes, which is the advantage he needs to use to win this match. Humi can also win from some of the worst positions possible and if he needs to, he will do it here too!
:USA: :hu: Wrecktify
Almost everyone in the league has received some tough love from Wrecktify. If it were anyone else giving out this harsh advice, most people would tell them to fuck off. Not Wreck though. This man arguably has the best FFA sense in the entire scene and with it, he has managed to become one of the most feared players in the league. When people hear advice from him, they usually listen.
While Wrecktify is unaware of it, there are actually two "King's" of FML. One of them being himself and the other being Target. Both have two season wins, Wrecktify's being in Season 6 and 8. It is without question that both players are two of the best Human FFA players in the world, but there simply cannot be two King's. Looking to steal the crown for himself, Wrectkfiy looks to engrave his name for a third time in the hall of fame!
:Bulgaria: :ud: Magadansky
What happens when you take Lucifer's micro, Sweet's Macro, PencilWarrior's FFA sense and then throw it into a blender? You get Magadansky. The only Undead player to ever win an FML crown is back again to take the 13th season! If it were possible to have a favorite in a cast of the best players in the league, it would be Magadansky.
Yet, we have seen many times that Magadansky has flaws in his play. His biggest weakness has always been late game base races. With two human players, this is a very likely possibility. Look for him to try and take out, or cripple, one of these two early so that he has a better chance when going into the late game where he can snatch a win away from his opponents with his deadly triple nuke!
There you have it! The Season 13 Grand Finals is about to begin... but we're not done yet! To make this game EVEN MORE interesting, the FFA Masters league is giving out $50 to the winner of this match.
Let the games begin!

I think wreck self proclaimed himself king after winning 1 season.
At that point we named target an emperor if i recall correctly :P
GL HF All!

Awesome writeup, should be good.
It's wonderful to be able to come back after a few years and get this massively into a game-type of a specific game, wicked wicked. FFA is wonderful.

Although I'm not at the level of players like maga, I still don't consider myself a noob.
And tbh I don't think I outskilled him either, he just left~
-
pretty damn noobish of him since he thought we were hoarding 50 all game, dont think he would have left if he knew we were fighting quite a lot
-
I like that the winner gets 50 $. That will surely spice things up!
-
Sweet was known for his Ghoul micro, whereas lucifer was known for his fiend micro. No such thing as a player known for their "macro" in wc3 solo T.T

wtf? i was talking about myself...
you didn't even play him, you got a freewin
-
but you lost against him while having more food, and doing the initial attack...
so that can hardly be considered outskilling him either :P

as i said i outskilled him, the fact that he won anyway because spank gave him an extra expo and he tanked my base has nothing to do with skill and is irrelevant,
and i could also mention my mental skills wich are way better than his... i dont ragequit when i get owned :icon_cool:

Reading the things you write hurts my brain.

Official message from the Backstab Team:
Kruppe is very annoyed by not knowing his favorite player.
Alas, my friends, dear Sir Wrecktify or my great undead fellow Maga, both deserve each given drop of water in this deserted world.
Whatever, Kruppe takes great pleasure knowing that this is a final FFA deserves.
Thus, Kruppe fading out.

Is there a predictions thread I'm not seeing somewhere? Because I want to post my well educated guesses via percentages.
Duck - 21.7% - very strong player, but I think his lack of FFA knowledge will be too much to overcome vs such stiff competition.
lill0r - 22% - my ignorance is showing here...because I don't actually know a lot about him. But he seems to be a very solid player.
Wrecktify - 30.7% - a god among men, who can oppose him?
Maga - 25.6% - potential god slayer.

Made me smile :D
There should be a king's corner, but I suppose the king is busy getting ready for his match against the god slayer

Im not going to do a writeup on my own match. Though I will do a saison recap even if I pull this one off after :)
