Season 19 is a Go!
« on: June 23, 2014, 11:04:42 am »
:FMLN:

It looked like a shaky start to begin the season, however we gained quite a bit of steam towards the end of applications and have ended up with a respectable 28 players this season.  While it's not as high as some seasons, it actually fits this format very well, and we have very high average skill level from our applicants.  All in all I think it's safe to say that we're going to have another great season!

So with all that out of the way, we'll talk a bit more about season format.  The matches will be posted sometime today, however I'm terrible at that so it'll be left to my more skilled counterpart :USA: Worpex.  This season will feature 6 regular season matches, however with the inclusion of the elimination format it means that not all of our players will be able to play all of the games.  The format for eliminations is below.

Round 1 - 28 Players
Round 2 - 28 Players
Cut 1 - Bottom 8 Players Eliminated
Round 3 - 20 Players
Round 4 - 20 Players
Cut 2 - Bottom 8 Players Eliminated
Round 5 - 12 Players
Round 6 - 12 Players
Cut 3 - 5 Players Eliminated.
Semi Finals - Players 4-7 in Standings Play a Semi-Final match, Players 1-3 in Standings make finals.
Finals - Winner of the Semi-Final and 3 Players who auto-qualified.

Word is that he and Maga retired. So did Yane.

Okay, just to clear a few things up so we don't get any rumors going about (or if we do they're better rumors!).

Wrecktify is planning on taking a season off, but should be back next season if all goes according to plan.  In the mean time he will be dedicating himself to doing more shoutcasting and hopefully he'll be able to start running shoutcasts without me since I'll be travelling quite a lot in the near future.

Magadansky planned on retiring at the start of last season, however we had already had a bunch of great people drop out so he continued to play that season as a favor to me.  He is completely done I believe, though who knows maybe we can get him to come around for some experiment games every now and then.

Yane had planned on retiring following last season all along.  He made a big resurgence and binged on WC3 for a while, however now I believe he just wants to play the occasional 2v2 game and maybe some wacky FFA on smurfs.

J33 not being signed up is surprising to me, and a big bummer.  I'm hopeful that my email to him will go through, and maybe he's just been on vacation and will still be down to play this season.

TL;DR Maga and Wrecktify are engaged so they'll be taking a year long honeymoon and can't play WC3

I'll probably still win more than most just subbing, I just don't feel like playing this season :)

Thanks for clearing it up. I knew about maga and yane but wreck and j33 were confusing me. Hope j33 will take the last spot!
