Season 20 Format
« on: November 17, 2014, 05:36:43 pm »
 :FMLN:

Hey guys! Let me tell you the format we'll be using for season 20. Many of you asked for an extended qualifiers, and we've delivered. We've chosen this format to allow for the best chances of the top players to advance, while also granting everyone more games to enjoy during qualifiers. Best of luck to everyone!

Qualifiers
  • 3 Rounds
  • Typical 25/10/10/5 scoring
  • Top score and not winning the game gives the player 11 points.
  • Tie-breaker (TB) points. See the note below.
  • At the end of qualifiers, top 20 players proceed to the main season

Main season
  • Players scores are reset to 0, and then awarded 1 point for each win from the qualifier rounds.
  • 3 rounds
  • Top 3 players go directly to season final, places 4-7 compete in a semi final for the last position.

Note on TB points: Each round, an objective will be announced. Players who achieve the objective in their games will be awarded TB points. These points do not affect your season score, but they are used for the overall rankings to break ties. The admin team strives to choose the most fair objectives that should not affect gameplay, while at the same time providing a reward to players who are mindful of them.

The rule that you have the highest score and not win the game does give the player 11 points. We missed that in the announcement.
