Ok, I think that we at FML do a pretty good job of keeping everyone up to date on what’s happening, at least on the site. That being said I realize not everyone lives on the site like I do. In fact, we have lots of people who enjoy watching our games, but never really know when they’re going on.
So I’ve decided to ask you the community what you would like to see and what would make it easier for you to follow the scene. I’m especially curious to find out from people who browse the site every now and then, but aren’t really a part of the league. Maybe you enjoy watching the stream, maybe you play ladder, or maybe it’s something else. But, we want you to be a part of our family, what would help with that?
In addition, I’d like to find out what other resources and communities people think we should tap. There’s apparently a huge Russian FFA following, but we barely have any Russian FFA players on the site. I’d love to tap into that a bit more. Same with Germany on Readmore. If you guys have suggestions I want to hear them. I want everyone to be able to enjoy FFA the way that we do.
My primary thought right now is honestly that an FML Twitter account would help. I know I don’t personally use Twitter, but I know a lot of the world does, and it seems like a good way to let people know when games and stuff are going on. Another thought is an email notification system that could be signed up for, but that might not be easy to pull off.
So, let me know what you think and we’ll start progressing together!

my pager still works, plz make that option
-
I selected Facebook. There actually is an FML Facebook group but no one uses it. haha
-
Also, just to clarify what it is that I would like FML to be able to do.
An easy way to notify about FML matches happening.
E.G. M11 will take place in 30 mins! Tune in here:
KoFFA signups have just opened, sign up here:
Etc, etc.

Yeah I know, and we could make that work. I'm just not sure how well it would work for this since Facebook has screwed with everything so much. If we wanted to make announcements about things happening in 30 minutes how well would Facebook work?

FML Facebook group?
can t find it
-
https://www.facebook.com/groups/14759665404/
it needs some serious work. lol
-
I can update it if that's what everyone decides is the best way. That part shouldn't be hard. Will give this a week to see how the results pan out.
-
Lol , i really thought the group was deleted or something, since it dissappeared from my facebook account.
-
i wanna blowjob
edit: voted for facebook
-
i dont use twitter and i dont read my emails often so i voted for Facebook and the Website.
when i started to visit this page a few weeks ago, i always watched the replays from the "replays" section but it seems that the replays are no longer uploaded in this section, i only know that there is a new replay when i read the News or sometimes i saw some at replayers.com.
other question: are the games streamed at waaagh.tv? i never saw them there.
sry for my bad english

Hey, thanks for replying! The games are sometimes streamed on Wagh, but more often on Twitch TV. We'll work on the replays section, that's a good idea, thanks for bringing it up!
-
Yeah Worp and Renaud got the rights to stream via WTV, but we try to cast/stream with twitch atm. And about the replays, i normally upload any of the fml games there. just search for them with tournament "fml"
-
He means on Navigation where it links to our demonreps account. Should link it to replayers.
-
link to replayers : yes tahts a good idea
facebook : the best idea, sout americans players have such a group where they emet to start games and it is very successfull
-
The website seems fairly comprehensive. I mean I discovered FML through the stream and I liked it enough to make a conscious effort to seek it out. Ultimately, I think if people want to watch the stream they will seek it out. Consequently, as long as you make it available on the website then it should be fine.
Alternatively, perhaps some kind of automatic notification that is sent to people when the stream goes live. To that end twitter is a viable option although i'm not much of user so can't provide much input in that sense.
Additionally, try getting some "high profile" streamers to join some of your games. For instance, ask SoSorryMan to play in a game or two. In this manner, it would direct new viewers to your games and the FFA scene in general.

you guys should work together with the wc3 sites, readmore, gg.ru, replayers, wcreplays. the most people noticing about wc3 things by going on these sites.
there are always ways to make things going more public. Don't think anything i could vote for is such a thing. you guys need to communicate with the community not with each other on such emails and facebook sites.
there are always people with access which would be down making news i think.
thats my idea yo

Make a facebook group would be awesome!!! like fml ffa clan ...

I think the best idea is to continue to grow exposure through the different wc3 sites that could link to our website. The popularity of FFA has risen obviously with the Bot and also consecutive successful seasons and events ran by FML. If more people know about FML (and this website specifically) then they would be able to keep up with the FML happenings.
As far as a social media, I like the idea of websites first and Skype second. More people joining the Skype group will obviously add to the community and bring more activity to our website too. I think its really important to advertise FML and the website.
FFAreplays.com of course is important too, while outdated it has great function and should be intertwined in the news etc with this website (ffamasters.net) so all players interested in FFA know about both websites.
I know that I check both websites and skype often, as I'm sure many of you do and many more would with the proper exposure.

Lastly, I believe in the idea of having TWO, separate parts of the league running simultaneously starting next season. FML A and FML B. This would open up the league to 32 spots (up from 16) to include many more players. This would also double the amount of games for more activity and replays. The system could be figured out at a later point but with the growth of our community it only seems natural. Thoughts on this?

Dont use any of this on daily purpose.
without Skype/Chrome I cant imagine being in net, so I suggest something like bot that will send msgs once a day(or crossposting from fb,tw etc) or app for chrome wit same features.
Dunno worth it time/costs,
but it's my 20c
exhale
p.s. also enjoy wan's idea

We also got a Skype group for FML. Just tell me your skype id and ill add you.

I know, but 1k+ unread messages a day about everything & 7 messages a week or less about main event of the day is not the same.
-
Hmm, that's an interesting point. So basically it would be something like an FML Announcement Skype Thread? It's certainly something to think about, thanks.
-
As an on-line community with a league, I think the best way is to have it all covered. No mailing list, but facebook page (not group, they are becoming obsolete), twitter and web site, plus affiliations with the wc3 sites. And keep ffareplays alive.
It's not as much work as it seems. Tweet announcing something, re-tweeted to facebook page, and web page remains as is. Most people use facebook the most, but some only use twitter, and a few none of the two. Links to shoutcasts, commentaries, interviews attract new people.
-
True. An official Facebook site would be awesome. We will discuss that in the admin team.
-
We're currently throwing around ideas among the admin team. Thank you for everyone who has contributed and please don't hesitate to give us more ideas!
-
I make facebook apps with my jelly sauce if you wantz me to make a scheduler and just transfer everything to facebookz
-
Alright, well you guys have responded and we listened. We have created a new Facebook page (separate from the group which is apparently obsolete, not that any of us really knew that). Suggestions are welcome, and activity and sharing is encouraged!
