Title: Seksi's Comprehensive Guide to FFA
Post by: Seksi on December 05, 2015, 04:16:42 am
The time is here.  Long awaited, long talked about and long procrastinated: The FFA guide is here:

--> http://www.wcreplays.com/forums/showthread.php?t=147337 <--

I am still working on final edits, revisions, additions, and formatting.

I used WCR because their forums are great.  I will probably format it into these forums next.  Hope you guys enjoy it and find it useful/interesting!!

very intersting analysis, it reminds me of the Comprehensive guide for 2v2 3v3 and 4v4 that was done like a decade ago by admiral_something. Perhaps if you do it in PDF format with images it would look pretty solid. I remember his 2v2 protocol had images of far seer and kotg harrasing, or 3v3 images of mass hunts TC shockwaves, asian wave style with LoGG_oN and all the legends from west.

Overall good work seksi, takes a lot of effort to put it all together.

Yeah, cool guide, although there are of course a few things I don't agree 100% with, such as the hero rankings for example.
It would indeed be cool with replays or pictures showcasing some different styles.
If you were to add replays, I suggest the Yaws vs Audigy game for a good Necrowagon example.

I like the guide, it's well written and gives a good analysis of each race and their possibilities to play. Would be cool if you re adding reference replays which show certain hero choices and/or army compositions.(Replays should be from 1.26, which should be fine since the patch is live for ~3 years ). Images of some ideal basebuilds would also be cool. (Remember LeL's "deathstar" orc base? :D )

Really well done, Seksi.

Thanks guys, I think you have good ideas on what could be added.  If you have any specific replays to suggest, let me know.  I'll look through my folders and the replay sites.

I also have some improvements on the sections, additions to scouting parts and revising of some parts.  I've moved a couple hero combos around and changed the hero rankings slightly (this part is always difficult to decide, there is no universal agreement on rankings because there are so many factors to include.   They are mostly for fun debate).  I am having some issues editing my post on WCR, however.  I may post it on these forums instead but that will take some free hours.

Pinball, would you like to post the guide on the front page of news here?  That would be cool!  Or maybe once I format it into these forums?

Thanks for your feedback, it's been a project I've worked on for years.  Some have messaged me on Skype about comments/feedback too.  I'll continue to work on it (replays sounds good, some visual things, screenshots maybe of bases, etc).

you should have a "playing against noobs" section, that explains what to do when all of your opponents don't understand the tacit rules of FFA.
