The leaves are falling outside, the days getting shorter, and the air is getting colder. As winter approaches, there's no better time to grab a coffee and a blanket, sit down, and enjoy some competitive FFA! Thank you all for patiently waiting for the application period to end. Wait no more, because we have all the details for the season 24 format ready, along with the first round matches.
As always, please read through our official rules here before scheduling your first match. Remember that we are a small community and that each of us are here for the same reason: to play one of the greatest game types Warcraft III has to offer. So please help to keep the community together and growing by treating one another with respect, especially outside of the game.
Season Format
Main season: There will be 5 main-season rounds.
Matching: Matching is round-robin. Players will face new opponents each round, as long as it is possible.
Scoring: 20-12-12-10, with +2 points to the player with the highest end-game score. First place is the last player standing, places 2-4 are determined by end-game score. This system is outlined here.
Eliminations:
After the 2nd round, players with 20 points or less will be eliminated*
After the 3rd round, players with 32 points or less will be eliminated*
After the 4th round, players with no possible chance at making the semi-finals will be eliminated
Maps: Each round will offer 5 map choices, numbered 1 through 5. Each player in a match can veto 1 map. After 48 hours from the start of the round, the map chosen for a match will be the lowest number map that was not vetoed.
Playoffs: After the 5th round, the players with the top 2 ranks qualify directly for finals, while ranks 3-10 will compete in two semi-final matches to determine the remaining 2 finalists.
Semi-final: ranks (3, 5, 8, 10) form one match, and ranks (4, 6, 7, 9) form the other.
Championship: the winner of the final match is crowned the Season 24 champion
*Elimination cutoffs may be adjusted in order to eliminate multiples of 4 players, though only in the direction of eliminating fewer players rather than more.
Round 1 Matches:
Find your match in the list below, go to the scheduling thread for your match and post your availability for the next two weeks. Round 1 games must be played by Sunday November 13th. Good luck!
We want to inform everyone of a few rule changes that will go into effect with the start of the upcoming season related to gaming platform, scheduling, and a new scoring system. The official rulebook has been updated to reflect these changes and can be found here.
Platform: the required platform is now w3arena (http://tft.w3arena.net/). Games can still be played on other platforms if all players agree
Scheduling: players lose their right to schedule a match if they don't post in the scheduling thread within 48 hours of the posting of the round (previously, this period was 3 days). If you know you will be without internet access for more than 2 days around the start of a round, contact an admin.
Scoring: in order to promote more active games as well as reduce the drawback of placing 4th, we are moving to the following system
20 points - 1st (winner)
12 points - 2nd (by game score)
12 points - 3rd (by game score)
10 points - 4th (by game score)
The player with the highest game score will get an additional +2 points, regardless if they won the game or not.
Please note that with all rule changes, admins reserve the right to undo them or make further modifications if we find them to be ineffective.
Applications are now open for the next season of FFA Masters League! Applications will be open until end-of-day Sunday, 30th October EST. The season format along with the first round matches will be posted within 24 hours after applications close. Hi all, with each season we try to learn how we can better organize the league to serve the players. Now with season 23 behind us, we would like to open a discussion to hear your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions regarding the season format (duration, match-making, news postings, etc.) and all related things. We've already heard good feedback on the map selection, so thanks for that. The admin team has been having conversations about things we would like to change for next season, so now we would like to hear from all of you as well.

After a 3-month season and a whopping 4 hour final, j33 has become the 4th ever FML champion to have multiple championship titles, having also won the season 17 finals nearly 3 years ago. Congratulations again the incredibly strong elf player from Finland, beating out the rest of the season's best in GEASS, UndeR.STa and Noexxx.

I'm happy to announce that Junkerzam is the latest addition to our admin team! Junkerzam is a familiar face in the community, known for his performance as a player in the league as well as the co-creator of the FFA podcast, Podcraft3. We are proud to have him on board to help us out with planning, scheduling, and other admin duties.
Glancing over the list of past winners on the front page it is awe-inspiring to think that hundreds of players before us have competed for that honor. The time has come for us to crown a new champion and add a new name to that list of victors. The semi finals are over and we have our cast of players set for the grand finals. This is the moment we've all been waiting for. We thank each of the players from the semi-finals for competing throughout the season and giving us great games. Congratulations to GEASS and Noexxx for fighting hard and earning their spot on the final stage alongside Under.Sta and j33.! To these four players - well done on making it this far, and best of luck!
The end of round 4 is a bittersweet time as the death knell rings for many players that did not make it into the semi finals, while at the same time we congratulate those 10 players that will proceed, working our way up: GEASS, zTsoso, reinforceement-, Eshan, noexxx who made it through despite missing the first round, Jaod_, ZsSuperCumulo, Tyrant66, and finally our top 2 placed players, each with a great main-season record with 3 wins, j33., and UndeR.STa. Because j33. and UndeR.STa are in the top 2, they will proceed directly to the finals, while the other 8 players will have to battle once again in a semi finals for those 2 remaining spots. After tie-break calculations, players ranked 3, 5, 8, and 10 form one match, and 4, 6, 7, 9 form the other. Please see your assignments below. Good luck!
